Morvold Music - Whistlebay Harbor!
I very excited to announce our next Morvold Music piece - the theme for the harbor town, Whistlebay Harbor, a large section of the port town featuring 100+ homes and several interiors for your players to explore!
I am commissioning composers/songwriters to create soundtracks to maps that I've created to help provide an even more immersive feel to your sessions. This month, I am happy to provide you with the Whistlebay Harbor theme by Josh Barron (www.joshbarroncomposer.com), one of your fellow Patrons.
I absolutely loved the story he was able to tell through the various pieces of music, which I will describe down below, in case you would like to follow along for the vision.
Where can I listen to it?
You can either check it out on Soundcloud here: https://on.soundcloud.com/FPyfvHZNkYsJxdjbQx or I've attached an MP3 file at the bottom of the post you can download and integrate into whatever playlists or jukeboxes you might keep for your sessions.
We had two wonderful illustrated scenes created for this map, by Mondcuow, which provide both a summer and winter version of the town.
For those that may have joined us after the release of the Whistlebay Harbor map, here is an example of the summer version and its interiors:
And the winter version:
Here's my attempt to convey the story-vision:
0 - :32 - Traveling across the open sea, we come across the profile of a ship sailing through open waters, eventually moving to a trailing view as the harbor comes into view.
:32 - :55 - Our vessel comes into dock at the harbor and our POV disembarks, making their way onto the docks of the harbor town.
:55 - 1:10 - We make our way down the busy streets of the port town, the streets bustling with activity.
1:10 - 2:34 - The camera moves along the docks, passing many of the merchant stalls and shops lining the street. We move in and out of a handful of buildings before moving onward.
2:34 - 2:48 - We come across a temple in the city, with a large statue of an ocean deity, following a crowd of people, we exit the temple and follow a line of sailors moving back toward the dock.
2:48 - 3:17- We follow many sailors and carts, as they move goods back to the docks and begin loading it onto another ship.
3:18 - 3:47 - The last of the goods are loaded and the ship pushes away from the docks, headed back out onto the open sea.
I've attached these to the bottom of the post, in case you wanted to use them for any of your upcoming adventures in 2026.
I am excited about the music and hope to bring you much more this year! =)
