Spell Illustration | Aid
Illustrated by Chui Wizard.
We have a great new entry into our Spell Illustration collection, a wonderful rendition of a cleric and a few party members preparing for battle. The cleric takes a moment, praying to their deity to Aid them in the upcoming battle.
I always appreciate the great use of shading (or lack thereof) in these black and white illustrations, whether it's to showcase a shadowy monster or the glow of divine magic. It's a real talent to be able to use light, heavy or no presence of the pen in order to achieve varied textures, materials, light levels and even mood.
Here's how the spell works, as written:
Aid
Level 2 Abjuration (Bard, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, Ranger)
Casting Time: Action
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S, M (a strip of white cloth)
Duration: 8 hours
Choose up to three creatures within range. Each target’s Hit Point maximum and current Hit Points increase by 5 for the duration.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot.
Each target’s Hit Points increase by 5 for each spell slot level above 2.

I hope you guys enjoy the illustration and I will continue to update you on the project.

I really love these black and white illustrations!!! I’m going to be starting a 1e campaign soon and I’m not sure how yet, but I’m definitely going to be using them!!!
It definitely scratches that old-school D&D itch for me - I love them, too! =)
