[Mod] Functional Mobile - Cell Phone as an Independent Object - a Sims 4 Mod
IF YOU WANT TO TRY THIS OUT, you need the Toolbox version 1.179.6 or more recent.
Make sure to remove any previous version of it that you might have.

REGARDING PHONE RE-TEXTURES AND REMODELS
Compatible BUT you must do one thing:
If you are using any CC / mod that re-models the VISUALS of the game's phone object,
DO NOT put the file "Lumpinou_FunctionalMobilePhone_Model_REMOVE_IF_USING_RECOLOR" in your Mods folder.Why? This file overrides the phone model to make the default state look like a "screen off" phone.
CC mods that remodel the visuals of the phone object also override this model. So,
LEAVE OUT THIS FILE if you use these types of CC.It's FINE to! This mod will still work perfectly! The only difference will be the phone might not have a "screen off" look while not in use, depending on what remodel of the phone object you're using.
AND: CC makers: if you wish, you can integrate for the "screen off" look, so that your cc has it and then this mod can call to it. It's easy. I put 🔗instructions in the mod's description page for any phone re-modeller interested.
DOWNLOAD & Installation:
1 - remove files from previous versions, if any
2 - REQUIRED: Lumpinou's Toolbox Library-Mod, version 1.179.6 or more recent. Put it into your mods folder or one subfolder, NO DEEPER.
3 - extract the zip file below and grab the extracted .package file(s), and put them into your mods folder or one subfolder.
The main file s,"FunctionalMobilePhone" and "FunctionalMobilePhone_Charger", are necessary.
The two "Landline" files are optional
The file with "model" in the name is optional for compatibility reasons, read more about it in compatibility section).

Silly question, but I've literally had my male, married Sim out all day and night, flirting with other women, trying to kiss, messaging women on the dating app, sending private messages in social bunny, but when his wife snooped on his phone it said she found nothing incriminating. I wanted to generate drama with this phone, lol. What exactly does he have to do to have something incriminating to be found?
Hi, if there is an actual affair happening, it will reveal that. There's no tracking for social bunny and cupid corner in terms of how they areby default but I could add that to the game and the mod. Another request that's come a few times is to make a standalone 'snooping' function (one which doesn't require to use the phone object mod) so that's also in the plans

Question! If I assign EVERY in-game Sim to use this system, will unplayed Sims autonomously ever put their phones down? Or will they always keep them on themselves (unless asked if the phone can be borrowed)?
Hi, Sims who have never been played all have phone access, and Sims who have been played but are not currently being played and have a phone will have their phone in inventory so it doesn't disappear, HOWEVER I could still make it pretend that some of them don't as in 'oh sorry mate forgot it at home' or such. What are you envisioning?
I can see the phone charger and other cc but I don't have the option to purchase phone
Hi, if the pine menu is not showing on adults for example, there's an installation problem - probably something related to the scripts not being able to be read
Just wanted to let you know this Mod is interferring with the event. It messes up the UI for the quests

So, first: I adore you and your mods. Is there any way you can make it so teen sims who live independently are able to buy a phone of their own? x_x I like to start with teens in rags to riches, but they have no parents to ask for a phone from, and the landline phone doesn't let the sim interact with certain "apps" x_x.

Hi, I'm having some issues with the functional mobile mod. Whenever i put it in my game i get stuck on an infinite loading screen when loading into a household. I removed my phone overrides and placed the model file back in and it still has this issue. The toolbox mod is also up to date. I hope you can help me, thank you!
Hi, you might have a broken mod which is interfering with Toolbox, the most commonly known is helenae preference plus which is broken in and off itself. What zee it is we can help you find it on the discord by checking file logs

Hi, you can make battery last 4 days or turn off battery drain altogether in settings

Hi, dunno yet. There is the extra problem of half the files being optional - CF is very not practical with handling optional files
