[Misc] Status on Two Upcoming releases + Question
1. So how are we feeling about Law & Disorder so far?
Patrons - now that you've had a chance to try it out, don't hesitate to let me know if you've encountered issues or if you have any particular feedback!
The first week of early access was tough but successfully productive - bugs were revealed then squashed, requests and suggestions heard and their content starting to be added. At the moment, there are no bugs I’m aware of other than "swipe" interaction showing on pets (which I'll fix tomorrow) - though I have no doubt more little things will pop up (and get fixed up!)
There are more features that I plan to add within this Early Access period, a portion of which were based on your feedback and request. You can see the list 🔗on the mod description page.
2. CPS overhaul: development continuing, beta soon
Law & Disorder's early access bug reports and tweaks / additions demanded all my time for quite a while, but since it's been calming down, I'm free-er to continue on CPS overhaul and wrap up a beta version that will be shared with Sun tier for examination and suggestion opportunity.
3. The third project: "Cell Phone as an Independent Item"
I don't know yet exactly what the name of this one will be "Functional Mobile Phone" maybe - but its development is also advancing nicely.

I am hyped for these two upcoming releases and they're toooo not far from beta stage, I'm also looking forward to furthering the now-released Law & Disorder, but I'm also overworked and tired, so, Please be aware, I'm already doing my best and there is little point in asking when one thing or other will come out because I don't know until I'm done :)
4. Sim Info Manager got a minor update today
Mostly I added viewing and logging object states (might be useful to modders, not very to players)

I love the mod, but I haven't been able to try certain actions (Life Reaping) because I don't see the interaction pop out. Is there something I am missing? I can't wait for the CPS mod!

its showing last exception in my game.
Hi, that's almost always installation problems, so you first step is to check your Toolbox version and file placement in folders. Then if you still have errors pop up, you'll need to share the report and I can help you with it! 😊

Aww the phone reminds me of Sims 2! I loved the freedom of choosing whether or not my sim had a phone.
I'm really enjoying Law & Disorder and can't wait to try out the CPS mod. However, while using the Law mod, I’ve noticed that the "Heading to Trial" pop-up appears randomly after my Sims get arrested and finish their sentence. I just wanted to bring this to your attention and ask if this might be due to an error on my part. Thank you so much for your wonderful mods!

I don't know if this would be too inconvenient, but I'd love to see the law and disorder on Objects be hidden behind shift click, toggleable, or toggleable per sim (like only displayed for sims I plan to have swipe things).
Hi again! If you turn off specific misbehaviors such as swiping etc then it won't show in the pie menus anymore. Re a setting to shove it under shift click, that certainly can be considered, I will add that to the list :)
I feel like Nancy Landgraab has been vindicated. Good ole Geoffrey was up to no good, and the police was called on him for being in the buff. His panic about the police coming had me cracking up! Had to do the handcuff walk of shame in front of Malcolm. This mod ensures youre not even safe in your home! LOL. Thank you for this!! Excellent work, as always!
i love it so far someone was at my party i didn't catch what they did but the police showed up and arrested them loved it. i did get sued once lmao i don't remember why but i won
Hello, Better Exceptions is listing Law and Order as a bad script mod and My sim game keeps loading back to the World Selection screen is there any requirements or anything for this mod?
Hi, sounds like you have an installation problem. Make sure you have the latest toolbox version and that all scripts aren't too deep in folders
I dont know if its just me, but my family keeps failing to load. Better exceptions says this mod is outdated :(
Hi, I know mccc and be word this in a confusing manner so lemme clarify that better exceptions is not capable of determining whether a mod is outdated or not, it can only report on an error that occurred in the game. If you are getting thrown back to the world selection, you have an outdated mod somewhere by any modder (neither Mccc nor BE nor chatgpt can tell you which, only a human support member who's aware of the latest mod and game code) or an installation problem. No worries it can get figured out either way! I advise running a mod Hound scan first, and I can also assist you on Discord by seeing your error report. Thanks!
L&D is superb. Cell phone as an object mod is a GREAT idea. As far as suggestions/comments regarding Law and Disorder, any add-ons for Basemental's material would make for incredible depth not only in terms of storytelling, but functional playability as well. Is that the right way to say it? If those mods could compliment each other, work in concert with certain aspects of one another...or something like that
I so love this amazing Mod. I needed this Mod so thank you. My only wish if at all possible is to have all violence in sync with this law mod. Maybe getting with sacrificial for theirs and e404 for extreme squabbles to incorporate that violence as well because I swear, I want to report those bullies in life tragedies (I'll be a snitch) lol bc they beat up pregnant women and the elderly lol. I think there's a cop system with sacrificial and news cast and the cc of tape and blood makes it realistic but your cop system with that would be chefs kiss. I know you're not done with your mod and there's so much more to come, it's just the beginning. I'm thinking if there is ever a collab, longer jail time for gun violence, when on Parole you can't purchase a gun, drug test. Yeah, let's go all out!!! But regardless I lovee and neededdd this Mod. Hi, matters of integration like that are not something I can do just on my side, so it would have to wait and see once Sacrificial and I have time to discuss it further. In the meantime you can trigger an arrest anytime for a sim with the 'trigger an arrest' cheat. So if you see a sim do something bad via a sacrificial mod, you can use that to 'fake' report them

Loving Law & Disorder. Would love to be able to intimidate/bribe/threaten witnesses or victims. Then have the victim/witness have the option (like a pop-up that's triggered by whether or not they've been coerced) to not cooperate with the prosecution, which leads to the charges getting dropped. Also I have all updated files and my vampire got auto-reported by his victims, not a witness. It works with my gameplay, but did notice that this wasn't supposed to happen.
Hi, this is possible in the releases version, criminal can charm, bribe, threaten, plead and I think 1 more option with the sim who reported the crime, and if successful the reporter drops their complaints Vampire victim indeed should be receiving a dazed moodlet and not be able to report. It worked properly during my tests, so there might be something contextual... Do you use any vampire mods that might interfere? 🤔 If not, anything particular about these sims which might be relevant? Did the drink attempt succeed or fail? Which one was it? Thanks for the feedback and report!
I absolutely love this mode it is so much fun to use and it brings amazing game play. However I am having a small issue. Sometimes my sims sentence doesn't end, like their jail time will be over but they won't return home. but other than that its been amazing playing with this mode

I love the Law & Disorder mod so far :) However a sim tried to bribe me and i auto reported him and the case ended up in court. But the thing is he's a really good friend of mine. Close to +100 in relationship. And im using Basement's mod as well playing as a drug dealer and doing other shady things as well. So it kinda felt a bit wrong that i auto reported him and it ended in court when he offed me a bribe. Out of pure character gameplay, i would properly have taken the money :o) if i had the chance, and the last thing i would do in this situation would be calling the cops. Would it be possible to be given the choice to report misbehaves or to ignore it? You could even build on it and make options to blackmail others for keeping your mouth shut lol. Of cause with the chance that the person you try blackmail might confess his own guilt and then report the blackmailer instead. Or maybe a third outside person would report them both if he/she somehow found out about it all :o) Sending everyone to jail lol.
Hi, Sims close to a criminal (high relationship family etc) are less likely to make reports but aren't blocked from them. There is a setting in the mod which is greyed out because I haven't tested it yet fully, which lets you choose if a played sim should report another played sim. I don't make it ask every time anyone might report anyone because it would get tedious very fast. HOWEVER there is also two upcoming things thy might help you: the upcoming attribute to make a specific sim not report anyone, and 'manual mode' upcoming (I listed both of these in the mod description I believe) where no reports are ever made automatically and it's always player directed. The 'this sim can't be reported by anyone' attribute already exists in the mod. At the end of the day in addition to the two things I mentioned above which are already planned, I could also add a relationship status of 'would never report each other'
OMG I'm super excited about the independent phone, I think it's such a cool neat idea alongside giving your sim something else to do, that being charging it and paying a phone bill.
Love your mods, your creativity... well you're just awesome. I have been playing with the Law and Disorder mod. The only thing I noticed is that the police don't show up. Which one time the sims so-called friend snitched and called the police but in that instance I am glad the police did not show up. I know there is a fix for police but thought it was for the burglar / police bug. Thanks again for all that you do. It is appreciated.
Hi, the police not showing up is an EA bug with the BG police career, and to avoid creating Npc Sims and clog the game with more Sims when the game already has their own Npc's created with the career of cops, I refer to that same career to generate my mod's cop Sims. So the bug fix fixes it for the mod too basically :)
Hi, I have been playing the Sims 4 game with the Law and Disorder Mod and haven't really had any problems with it so far. Though I haven't got a chance to try all the options out on it yet. I do love all your mods, some I have in my game and some I haven't tried yet.

I love all your mods! Are we allowed to give you suggestions? I would really love to see the custody mod get an update for the kids/teens to be able to choose where they want to live. But again, I love all your mods! Thank you for all you do <3

Hi Lumpinou, i've been getting last exceptions regarding the Law and Disorder mod. In game i noticed that when the notification popped up for my sim to go to trial, my sim would not go and the notification kept popping up from time to time but, again my sim would not go. Even after my sim died, i would keep getting pop ups for her to go to trial. Eventually i had to remove the mod because something was obviously wrong. The mod did work at first but not sure what has happened as i did not download any new mods during the time i was using L&D.
Hi, strange! There could be a lot of causes (wrong version of Toolbox installed, for one, a missing marker on a sim for another - but the latter would not matter or cause issues with the latest version of Law and Disorder, either, so if that is what you encountered [maybe the reporter got culled for example], I recommend re-downloading the latest version) - what was your sim's crime? That could matter as well in the equation. Either way I can help you with all this on the discord and check that your installation and files are what they need to be etc and see what's going on with the sim

Hi! Better Exceptions is telling me to delete the mod because of bad tuning and the interactions immediately cancel when I try them, did I do something wrong?
Hi what mod are you talking about? Sounds like you are getting a last exception error which can be caused by anything from installation problems to mod issues to the game itself. I can tell you which if you send the error report file. From your description it sounds very much like an installation problem / missing requirement / wrong version of something
I love the law and order mod so far! My vampire got arrested for assault, but after his hearing I get a notification every hour that it's time for his hearing and he'll be going now. I can go to discord and provide files if needed. Love your work! ❤️
Hi, you might have had one of the bugs that were fixed [sim who had a 'warning only' at a plea deal continues to get called to hearing], if your files are older than October 13 I'd recommend re-downloading ; if they were already the latest though tag me up if you do end up going to the Discord!
