The only retcon or story adjustment was renaming the wrecked submarine from Chakra IV to Sindhuraj. The reason for this is that the Indian Navy really does have a Chakra IV that's a different class of vessel. Just to be as faithful to the facts as possible, we changed the hull name to an actual Kilo class submarine in the INS inventory.
CHASING SUNSETS REMASTER
With that said, the Chasing Sunsets update is in full swing. This won't take much time, as the intent is to release the code-fixed version soon, and have Kent backfill art as Firebreak development allows.
It's built on the vector-graphic based Firebreak backend with the same improved sound system, guided mode, and a Lighthouse Mode that will help guide players to their desired endings. The whole production has had a nice facelift, and as the art packets supplement some of the older parts of the story, it will begin feeling like a far more polished product.
One thing I'm particularly proud of is getting rid of all the spaghetti code that held the game together and replacing it with a highly-streamlined and easy-to-understand variable system. URM won't work with it very well, however, because once again I'm pushing all variables through a single writer so there can be no disagreement between back end functions.
Also, since every choice is recorded on the choice ledger, it provides for a lot more granularity in choice consequences since every one of them travels with the save.
In any case, here are the latest Firebreak 0.1b links:
