Modding Diary - Final Stretch + Future Release Schedule Poll
Hi guys! 鈽猴笍hope you all are doing well! I have some final features for this abandoned baby update for you today and at the end I have a poll for how frequent I should release updates moving forward!
This week I worked on the interaction that allows abandoned baby to meet their biological parents, I had issues with this interaction a few months ago where I couldn't summon the correct parent, but I was able to get it to work this time around 馃檹
I also added a interaction that allows the child to ask their biological parent why they were abandoned , this interaction is ONLY available if the child was abandoned by a player controlled sim, it doesnt work on NPC parents. Right now I have a total of 5 reasons to choose from
I also added an interaction that allows the abandoned baby to decide whether or not to forgive their biological parent
Last but not least I added an interaction that allows sims to steal someone else's baby because apparently we love committing crimes in the sims community 馃樁NPCs will not do this autonomously, it has to be directed by the player. if another sim sees you they will call the police and get you arrested so use with caution
Once a baby is stolen they will be put in the basket as usual and I guess you can take them to raise as your own or give them to someone else??
I have some final testing and cleaning up to do next week and I will have this update ready for release by the end of the week.
Moving forward :
As many of you know Ive been releasing my updates about once every 3 months for the past few years. I feel like 3 months is usually how long it takes for me to create a meaningful update with enough interesting game play. But I am considering the idea of doing monthly update instead so you can get brand new game play more frequently, and I will be able to adjust my update more quickly according to your feedbacks. 馃obviously the size of the monthly update will be a lot smaller since I get less time to work on them but I do want to know if this is something people might be interested in. So please cast a vote to let me know what you think! 鈽猴笍

I'm perfectly happy with the way your release schedule is set. Would I like more frequent updates? Sure. But I also don't want you to burn yourself out when it comes to trying to get something ready for release every month. I am absolutely okay with waiting for the big updates.

OMG - the ability to steal a baby is amazing! I have a sim household that is desperate to have a baby but they are poor and both are infertile. They may just develop some sticky fingers. If a baby is added to a household by being stolen, how does that look in the family tree/genealogy wise? Thanks so much!! :-)
For the family tree they will still keep the original family tree. Mainly because messing with family trees could cause some serious issues ever since the family tree update a few months ago so I want to play it safe
For some reason it won't let me vote, maybe the poll is closed? But I'd rather you keep it the way it is. As far as stealing a baby, do you think there is any way, or if you had any interest in collaborating with Lumpinou and their Law and Disorder mod? Maybe that way there would be less to do with the whole arrest option? Of course this is coming from a layperson that knows nothing about how modding/collaborations work. Thanks for all your hard work!

I definitely do not want you to burn out, so I would say keep it the way it is, and if you're feeling especially inspired, we can feel spoiled and grateful if you release earlier!

I feel like three months is entirely reasonable for the mod releases. There is so much detail in your mods and I really appreciate all the hard work you put into your content.
For your releasing schedule, please keep it the same for your sanity please. The last thing we need is for you to burn yourself out. I say this with concern and love as modding is no easy feat. I鈥檇 rather you take more time to make it where it鈥檚 done well and you don鈥檛 feel rushed.

Looking at the screenshot for the reasons the child was abandoned, both the financial and unstable relationships says "i was too poor..."

For the options to forgive or not, you should add a third optiona let fate decide option. That would be interesting. As always thank you for the hard work
