Baby Carrier Basket Mod
01-22-2026 Update:
Babies should no longer age up in the bassinet if you placed them in the carrier basket
The extra hidden swatches of the carrier should no longer show up in build and buy even if you have the show hidden object cheats turned on, If you couldn't put the baby in the carrier before, download this update, delete the carrier you have, and buy a new one from build and buy.

This mod allows your sim to carry their baby around and take them off lot
you can find the baby carrier in build and buy by searching carrier basket or pandasama
once the carrier basket is on the lot you can click on your baby and put them in the carrier
you can use the usual interactions to take care of the baby's needs when they are in the basket
and you can pick them up and walk around with them
when you travel, the carrier basket will be in your sims inventory upon arrival
some interactions are compatible with the carrier basket
for the interactions that are incompatible sims will put down the basket
you can also interact with the baby when sitting
the baby will be teleported back to the bassinet once you get home, this would happen even if you accidentally left the carrier basket on another lot
you can shift-click on both the carrier and the bassinet to show and hide the baby as a debug option
if everyone is off the lot at once you will still see a notification that says the baby has been sent to daycare even if they are in the carrier basket, there's nothing I can do about that

lots of basites are like this irl where they have the connecting stand and stroller bottom. maybe making wooden and metal ones that look sleek and modern?
Hey I love this mod it adds so much more to my gameplay just one thing though it removes cc skin and newborn onesies cc once the baby is inside then puts the cc back when baby is in crib. Is that something you plan on changing or is it unchangeable?

Interesting bug I've discovered, you cannot take the baby to retail stores. It works great when I go to a park, other residential lots, small businesses, even restaurants, but when I go to a retail store the baby does not appear in the carrier anymore. I guess baby cant help shop for his nursery!
I do wish there were a few different swatch options like black and pale green, black and pale blue, black and pale yellow... black and pink is nice-- but it'd be nice to have some colour options. over all though, I love this mod. Especially useful for werewolf sims trying to parent their newborn and keep up with pack participation.

I love this! Been wanting something similar for years and have been cheating it by having mods that make more objects movable in live mode and then dragging the bassinet around my lot when my sim goes from their bedroom to their garden. This makes it way easier and now I can even travel to new lots. When I saw this pop mod pop up., I was like, figures Pandasama would make the exact mod I desperately want yet again. It's only happened like, 5 times now. Two things though. Before actually having the baby, I placed one of these in my future nursery and then noticed that I started getting the newborn cooing sounds even without it being born yet. Deleted all other bassinets to prove it was this was the most likely cause. Not a big deal, and it never gets fixed or can't be fixed, I'm not upset over it. I just noticed it happening and figured I would report it. The second thing is, could it be possible to get the basket mesh that as far as I can tell is exclusive to the found babies available to be purchased like the more modern carrier? I mostly play rustic or historical type playthroughs, and the modern carrier is a little anachronistic whereas the little basket would be perfect. If this is already in the mod, I'm sorry I missed it.

Hey, so I downloaded this mod like I do any other mod but the baby carrier is still not in my game, I tried dragging the extracted folder into my mod folder it didn`t show up in game. I also tried dragging the package and script out of that folder into my mod folder as a regular file and Im still not finding it inside my build and buy. What do I do ?

I'm in love with this. I just saw my mother sim take her baby out for a walk. Loved it! The only thing is my sims are aliens and the alien baby looked like a regular human (simman?) baby. Is there a way to fix that?
Oh when this happens can you find the log file copy the context of the baby carrier log and paste it here? Thus happens when the mod fails to detect the baby’s skin color

Hi PandaSama, I love the idea of this mod. However it doesn't work in my game. All I get is pick up or put in inventory. No place baby option. It is installed directly into my mods folder and my script mods are on... What did I do wrong?
Definitely something with the script file, double triple check it’s actually in your mods folder and script is on. If both are done correctly it will show up

Hi! The basket is only available in one color, feel free to make recolours if it! However each color has to be its own object, and make sure the baby skin colors are in the same order. Feel free to reach out if you run into any issues!
