Modding Diary - Calling The CPS
Hi guys! hope you all are doing well! thank you guys for your kind messages and comments under my last WIP post! ☺️I read every single one of them and I really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. And I am very glad the idea is very well received. I hope I can live up to your expectations.
So this week I made some social interactions that sims can perform with their SO. When a baby is found, each sim will either want to keep the baby or want to give the baby to the authorities(CPS or Police)
Sims who want to keep the baby can suggest the idea to their significant other.
the "suggest to keep baby" interaction is under romance
and depending on how their SO feels they will have two type of responses. The top is if the SO doesnt want to keep the baby, and the bottom one is if they do want to keep it.
Sims will get a happy moodlet if they agree
or if they will be upset if they are not on the same page. you can keep using this interaction to try and change the other sims mind, and theres a 20% chance you will eventually convince them lol
sims who dont want keep the baby can suggest to give the baby to the authorities
Again depending on the SO feels they will have different responses and moodlets (not showing the moodlets today)
Lastly you can use the "Decide baby's fate" interaction to take actions on what you want to do once you make up your mind and this week I worked on the CPS option
If you decided to get CPS involved a CPS worker will come to your house
And after you greet them you will be able to explain the situation to them
and provide details on the baby to help with the investigation
next week I will work on the interaction that allows your sim to show the baby to the case worker, have them take the baby, or ask about potential adoption. and I will also work on the "Take the baby to the police" that allows you to take the baby to the police station (if you have get to work installed).

Do you know if you will release to the public on an exact day? I'm really excited to play with this mod because my sim had an unexpected pregnancy (even with contraception) and my sim can't keep her because I'm trying to play a storyline where she's a "villainous valentine" :)

Hi, this is totally unrelated, but I am having problems using the gender reveal feature of the childbirth mod. When I click on the balloon, nothing happens. I only get a prompt from (SAC mod) that says "proposal photos."
hi make sure you are using a sim whos between the first to third trimester to click on it

Hi i wanted to ask, if you maybe suggested adding more post birth interactions to child birth mod. like how women bleed and cramp afterwards giving birth, the stress of the newborn baby, and the mood swings and mental health?

This is brilliant! You could go darker and sell the baby ( to adoptive parents )for evil sims though, but that would be a bit too much maybe.
Or that you can move them to adoptive parents or a household designated as foster parents ( there's a mod for that I think) or Orphanage. I have an Orphanage in my game where I moved extra sims and also ' adopt' child sims as well. This way the foundling baby will stay in the game and not deleted ( as I assume give to police/CPS will do).

Hi just a quick suggestion I was thinking as Im playing the midwife career when doing the scan could you change the size of the baby with each trimester and show it on the screen please? Just to add abit more realism. Overall loving this mod.

I have an great mod idea that would go great with your other mods Hospital Adoption Mod After a Sim gives birth, the player is presented with an option to adopt the baby out to another Sim family. And The player can choose to adopt the baby to a pre-existing Sim family or create a new family. Meeting with an adoption social worker Choosing an adoption type (open, closed, or semi-open) - Paying adoption fees and expenses - The adopting family receives a call from the hospital and can pick up their new baby. - - Different adoption outcomes etc birth parent changes mind, adoption falls through) - Support and resources for both birth and adoptive parents

I sort of explained it in my post last week regarding how the baby will appear. I have t worked on the chances part yet but it will be very low, but you can trigger it manually tho
