Modding Diary - Stillbirth Ultrasound Scan

Hi guuuuuys hope you all are well! this week I worked on the still birth ultrasound scan animation for the pregnant sim and their partner😶

the interaction starts out exactly the same as the regular ultrasound scan

but the technician will soon realize they can no longer detect a heartbeat

they will share the news with your sims

and the pregnant sim will start bursting to tears

the partner will also be shocked by the revelation

the doctor will discuss possible next steps with your sims

the pregnant sim will take one last look at the image frozen on the ultrasound screen

annnnd that will be the end of the interaction. 😔

I actually really enjoyed making this animation, up until now I've never really made any sad animations and this has just been a really different but interesting experience.

next week I will need to clean up some loose ends, assign the proper moodlets to the interactions (both sims are still getting happy moodlets for the ultrasound atm lol) and then try and find a way to make sure stillbirth babies are not gonna be added to the household. Then I want to make some kind of interaction that allow sims to grieve together. Im thinking they could hold each other on the couch and cry together. maybe something like this 👇and let your sims to cry it out with their partner or families.

There will also likely going to be an update next week to address the following issues :

• fix the issue where teen can't analyze blood and urine sample✅

• make pregnant patient un-pregnant when they leave the hospital to avoid over populating the world with babies✅

• Unlcok ultrasound scan for patients and player sims who are in labor✅
