🌿 Making Space for CC What You Love

Remember my post “How to Keep Your CC Game Happy & Healthy”?
It was never just about cleaning — it was about caring. About making space for the items that spark your creativity and letting go of the ones that no longer fit your vision.

And today, I want to share one more little habit I’ve been doing for years — something that’s become part of my building flow and helps me quietly declutter while I create:

✨ The “Goodbye Corner”

Before I start decorating, I place a small empty room somewhere — in the basement, in a corner of the lot, wherever it fits. I call it my Goodbye Corner.
Every time I stumble upon an object I no longer love — outdated, oddly textured, no longer “me” — I don’t ignore it.
I move it into that room. No second thoughts. No guilt.

Once the build is done, I save the room as a separate lot called “To Delete”.
After the game, I open Sims 4 Tray Importer, load that room, right-click each item to “show in folder”, and delete what I don’t want to see again.

🌸 A soft, gentle goodbye to what no longer serves your creativity.

⚠️ Tip: If you’ve been very productive with your goodybye room, don’t open all the folders at once — Windows will explode with 100 explorer tabs. Open in batches and stay kind to your PC.

This little ritual helps me stay connected to my style, clear my folders, and focus on the CC I truly love.
It’s not about perfection — it’s about intention.

The "Goodbye corner" really is one of the most useful tips I have ever heard in The Sims community, thank you so much Kate for that 🙏😘 It was driving me crazy spending hours just on that 😅

Hi, this is a fantastic idea. I never knew there was a way to intentionally delete an object from the game. However, I'm not sure I understand how to save the room as a separate lot from the building already on the lot I'm decorating. Thank you for sharing!

Hi! I’m really glad to hear that! And yes – you can actually save individual rooms in Build Mode, not just entire lots. Here’s how it works: When you're in Build Mode, just click on the room you want to save — it should highlight. Then, in the top menu (where you usually save your lot), you'll also see an icon to save the selected room. Click that, and it’ll go straight into your Library as a room file! <3

I love this idea, thank you for sharing. It helps when you download a whole set but only want one or two items from it.

heyy so i love the idea but do you have an alternative way that i can do this but for cas items?

Heyy! 💕 I’m so glad you liked the idea! And yes – you can absolutely do something similar for CAS items too! Here’s what I do: Create a simple Sim in CAS (I usually use a neutral base Sim) and go through your outfits slowly. Every time you see a CAS item that feels off, outdated... add it to their outfit — even if it clips or looks weird. When you’re done, save the Sim to your library (you can name it something like “DELETE”) and then open Sims 4 Tray Importer. From there, you can view all CC used on the Sim, right-click → “Show in folder”, and safely delete the items you no longer want. Let me know if you want me to turn this into a full CAS cleaning guide too! 💛

Thanks for the awesome tip!! I am bursting at the seams with CC and a lot I don't use. Will definitely start this process today.

This is a great idea. I use a different save and fill a house or empty lot with things I no longer want. But saving it as a room in your regular save file sounds great. I'm always there and I don't have to open a different save file. Thanks, I will give this a try!

I am happy to hear! I hope you find the solution as practical as I do.
