Just a quick reminder that you have just over 24 hours to get your submissions in, either story/character ideas, or to work on this year's short! The submission forms will close at 11:59 pm Pacific time tomorrow, Sunday the 10th!
We've seen some really great submissions so far, and we're really excited to get to work on crafting a story that (hopefully) we can all be proud of, interested in, and helps people feel all the feelings!

What does this mean for you, Studio Executive? Well, you can up your support to the Supervillain tier, if youāre so inclined. Check out the additional perks and contact youāll have with the team! Is it worth it? Thatās subjective!
You can also submit ideas for this yearās short film, its characters, and/or the mental health topics it will be thematically covering, using this form!
A few caveats:
1) We may not be able to use your idea in any of our pitches. Doesnāt mean it was a bad idea, just that we couldnāt find a way to fit it in to any of the stories we decide to bring to the pitch stage.
2) By filling out the form, you agree that we are legally able to use this story idea. Basically, we donāt want to get sued. Weāre not going to make any money on this short (itās actually going to cost us a lot) but you filling out this form is an agreement that weāre able to use the ideas.
3) The writers/producers/director are not getting paid for this short film. This is the very definition of a passion project. So there wonāt be any monetary compensation for story ideas.
Basically, if you think thereās monetary value to your idea, donāt submit it! If you just have an idea that you think would be cool to see us make, and thatās the only motivation youāve got, submit away! Both of those options are good!
We think it would be cool to get you all involved in a real tangible way in these films, and again, we will not be making money. There is no way to make money with a short film. Thatās why Hollywood studios donāt make them.
Also, we have a form where you can submit your expertise and contact info if youād like to work on the picture in a crew capacity! Weāll be paying our crew members, so if you have interest, skill,

in (probably) early July for a week or two, weād love to have you! Or if youāve got art chops, or storyboard expertise, or a VFX background, and want to work remotely, weād love to get to know you too!
So please, get your submissions in as soon as you can. The submission forms will close Sunday, March 10th at 11:59pm Pacific time.
Megan, Jonathan, and Alan will spend the next week reviewing submissions and generating ideas. Supervillains will get access to their first exclusive BTS livestream during that process! Then theyāll come up with 3-4 pitches, pitch them to the Supervillains for feedback, and then present them to the entire Studio (all of our Patrons!) to vote on a greenlight!
Our current plan is to have that pitch video up for you all to vote on by April 1st.

On a personal note: This is in the top 5 most exciting things Iāve ever done (Alan here). The fact that we all get to band together and make movies is literally the only thing Iāve wanted out of my entire career. Iām SO excited for you all to go along on this ride with us! Now, hopefully, we make some good pictures. Guess weāll see, huh?

I would love to learn (anything, really) where you mentioned potential internships in your live stream announcing Cinema Therapy Studios (which I'm currently watching). I am really interested in that, if you'll have me. I have done some YouTube tutorial videos (I'm a degreed librarian [MLS], currently working at a small community college in East Texas), using Camtasia, and I am self taught in Photoshop and Microsoft Publisher. I've dabbled a little in Adobe Illustrator. I have some film photography knowledge, from high school and a semester in college. (I used to sell cameras [film and digital], and work the photo lab equipment at Ritz Camera from 2000-2003.) I love what you guys do, your ethics, and I want to have a career change where I am doing creative things, but maybe could use my research skills to help others too. (My natural inclination is to teach and help others, and I do have a bachelor's degree in elementary education, in layman's terms.) I'm eager to learn and help in whatever ways I can. Could this work out?

What Iāve seen personally, most often. With online payments, is my bank has had issues with illegitimate payments to a certain source and now is just blocking everything to them. Iād start with calling the vendor and see what they say. I hope that helps. :). Or like I mentioned earlier, just trying to make a new account because the 0ās and 1ās in the ether are being weird.
Iām so sorry youāre having an issue Nina, and maybe itās not my place to answer, but I looked at Patreonās info on your issue and this is what Iāve found: Why did my payment decline? (This is the closest answer I could find. :() Here are common reasons that payments will fail or decline: Expired credit card information Incorrect payment details The issuing bank has blocked the transaction Patreonās authorization has been revoked (most often with PayPal) Insufficient funds Iāve also seen people online talking about needing to make a new account and just starting over and that working for them.

ETA: nvm, managed to complete the purchase today :) I attempted to purchase a Sidekick membership but got an error message at the billing page, saying "you can't join this creator's membership." any idea why?? :(

Interesting. Have you thought about also offering people at a certain tier the opportunity to intern, to learn how to doā¦ ? For example, if someone wants to learn to storyboard, and perhaps has the relevant background to make a good intern, they could apply for the opportunity?
