Livestream Feedback

I’ve been wanting to attend a livestream since I joined but I keep missing them! I wonder if it would be helpful to do a poll before hand of suggested times and dates and people can vote for what would work best for them? Regardless, I am hoping to be able to attend a livestream someday soon!

I will admit I forget when the livestreams are and I am not sure where to find them, beyond that they are on Discord.

I've noticed they started being during the work week. I wanted to watch Alan's Oscar rant in the evening but it slipped my mind because pretty much just work has been on my mind lately. I understand that Saturdays dig into your personal time. But that or during the week in the late afternoon or evenings works best for me personally.

the Q&A suggestion sounds nice, pre-asked questions answered live? and a way for people to watch back on the recordings?

Its the time difference that makes it difficult for us. We definitely try and join when we can but if the time zone difference is after 3am it's hard to stay awake >.< or wake up. Maybe if there were some evening MST events to balance out that would really help ^^

Like the Lives but I’m on the west coast and can only join on weeknights/weekends.

I wish I could be there; however, the time for in japan is the issue.

My issue with the live streams is that I have two very young kids.Trying to do anything focused for more than five minutes is difficult unless they are both napping at the same time, at the right time. Maybe you could have people ask questions ahead of time and answer them in the live stream while talking to people live as well. Or you could prerecord something 🤷🏼‍♀️

I really want to join the livestreams. Timing is my biggest issue since I work live theatre in pacific time zone. Since we are between productions I'm planning to join in this month.

Did wanna mention that having an events tab in discord, where you can see the events list at-a-glance might help some too. (?) I know I’ve missed a couple that I had every intention of attending. The ones I got to were bc I put them in my personal calendar w notifications. Even with a ping a bit beforehand, many ppl have to plan around things at least a day or so ahead. (not all, but many) Well… I guess what II mean is that the ppl who do would be more able to do so. Or more likely. I come look at each Patreon announcement. And I wanna be at events. And intend to be. If I don’t put the date/time in a calendar right when I come look, that date just evaporates into the ether. Obv a me problem. … But one that I’m not alone with.

I don't “need” anything on top, mainly happy to support. I like the exclusive Q&A idea though, as it gives everyone involved the chance to time it as it best fits their schedule.

I like the livestreams, but can’t watch them live, so always watch them back if they’re available. Livestreams provide something a normal CT video won’t

Are the livestreams recorded and posted on Patreon? I may just be tech clueless, but I mostly feel like I get notifications from Patreon that a livestream is going to happen, and not that a previously recorded livestream is now available to watch. It may be they don't do a second notification, but if so it never clicks in my brain during the work day that, "oh, yeah, go back and watch this later."

i Love the idea of livestreams but as a european, i am barely able to attend, due to the time difference. but i regularely watch the videos if they are posted later

I love the livestreams as they are and have been able to participate in one but only because I wasn’t working. Every other one has been during the day on a weekday and while I love you guys, I have to put food on the table and actually be at work working when most of these are streamed. So something either later on the evening or on a weekend or something would be good. Just my two cents.

Haha I got the creative ball rolling I guess 😂 I subscribe to Trae Crowder (comedian) on Patreon and he does a Q&A video every couple weeks where he has a thread for one of the higher Patron tiers to ask questions, and he goes through them in a pre-recorded video he releases a few days later. That could work to give a bit of that livestream feel for those who can't make it. It certainly doesn't have to be several a month though -- his content is more off-the-cuff than this channel so I could see that being a lot to produce.

I have no suggestions for "something else" but I have a hard time getting to a livestream anything, unfortunately. Even if it's the right time, [here is where I would say 'I'm just really busy' but that's not entirely true. It's ADHD-anti-scheduling/introvert/overwhelm/forgot something-or-other] I don't make it. Actually, sometimes it's that I haven't seen the movie -- so that's a barrier. Ok now I have a suggestion -- what if Superheroes got TV show discussions and content? There could be a livestream to premier it for those who love and can make it to a livestream, and for those who can't, there's the episode. And since TV is not the focus for the channel, there are suggestions for content from Superheroes as an added extra. I'm in this tier for the deep dives and courses so I'm pretty happy with what I'm getting, for what it's worth.

We hear you that time is the biggest issue. We've changed up the day/time in the past to favor different time zones, but we will do better if we continue with livestreams. Thank you all! Keep your ideas and feedback coming!

I too have issue with the time. I second the idea that we submit our questions and you answer not live, that way it's fair for everyone.

I'm also new, but will throw out there that livestreams on a work day/school day are not ideal, regardless of timing (because time zones mean someone will always be at work or school). Any chance of shifting whatever "live" event or benefit we decide on to a weekend?

Also, maybe live streams could be about runners-up (runner-ups? 🤔) in the polls? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just a thought. ☺️ Love it all!

I think the main issue for me with the current livestream is the time, as it falls in the middle of the afternoon (and thus the workday) for me. But I'm sure no matter what time you do it at it will be inconvenient for somebody. What about doing a Q&A type thing, where a few days before, y'all request questions related to the particular video in a Patreon post, and then record yourselves answering some of them?
