EARLY ACCESS: The Evil Dead

I hate the outdoors...but lets go camping!
I promised myself I would never return to Ashleigh's patreon again for numerous reasons. Yet here I am! 🤦🏾♂️ 1st things 1st, there are some Older movies that year after year continue to get missed. Which makes sense now, since she no longer says " I'm a millennial that likes to go back & watch older movies & tell you what I think!" Too bad, cause I know that she'd like some of them if they ever made it past the polls. Although it's already too late for this year... Here is my super abbreviated list: "The Blob" ~1988 So insanely underrated & super fun! "Ghost Story" ~1981 Really, really good horror movie. "The Changeling" ~1980 one of the most atmospheric horror movies ever made. "Phantasm" ~1979 RIP Reggie 😥 This movie was straight nightmare fuel. For awhile it dethroned The Exorcist as the scariest horror movie of all time!! My pick for a Wednesday movie is: "Nothing but Trouble" ~1991 I can't WAIT till you see who's in the cast!! You're gonna scream! 🤣 Secondly, Might I suggest, since you've NEVER seen the original Dracula or Frankenstein you watch them both in one reaction? They both have super short run times. Each are only a little over an hour long. And you can finally acquaint yourself with the canon of both of the storylines. Lastly and the main reason I returned. Y'all did James Earl Jones dirty. The movie the members voted on was frankly insulting. He was hardly even IN the damn movie, let alone starring in it!!🤦🏾♂️ He deserves so much better than that!🙄 The man deserves a Mulligan, a " Do-over." Darth Vader & Mufasa deserves better. Here are some movies that HE ACTUALLY STARS IN & need to be considered as a do-over: "Claudine" ~1974 "The Great White Hope" ~1970 "The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings" ~1976 "Cry the Beloved Country" ~1995 @Ashleigh, his birthday is coming up next January 17th, please 🙏🏾 consider showing one of his films that spotlight his work. Sorry for such a long post, but, I paid my little $10 & I wanted to get this off my chest. And after Hallobeans, I'm signing off Patreon & will only watch from the wings. Thanks for reading. Signed crusty old GenXer. 🫡
I think this movie is amazing and I'm glad Ashleigh watched it... But, to be fair, seeing this reaction... Perhaps if I were in the position to have recommended her something *else* instead... Knowing it's been so incredibly popular with other Horror / Halloween season reactors' on YouTube... I guess I would have tried recommending her 1985's DEMONS instead. In case anyone catches this comment and doesn't know that movie, it really has a way of grabbing viewers. It's very intense. If it's on Tubi or you find it streaming, you might want to check it out. Here's the trailer = https://www.youtube.com/shorts/nYba0nBdJPo In case you *have* seen Demons but you haven't seen anyone react to it yet... Here are some YouTubers reacting to it: Sista Girl on Films = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LNJ5AhxhSrc You Me and The Movies = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iDdLHDgrZw Pugga (pillar) = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUU7uo5YQQU Chance's House of Horror = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOJgkfM6Mm4 Shut Up James = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLULYqwRoSI Also, in case *this* movie would scare her more / entertain her more, I would have no problem (even though I hate this movie) recommending 1988's NIGHT OF THE DEMONS instead either. It's also become very popular with horror reactors on YouTube. Anyway, here's a trailer (WARNING: it contains 2 brief shots of uncensored nudity) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9R_vbPgAOo And, in case you *have* seen the movie, here are some YouTubers reacting to it: Reel Reviews with Jen = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waADRT2NSKY Nick Says Boo = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqLJbK5tym4 Sista Girl on Films = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szJA9URQg_0 Southernbelle Reacts = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmtQu5eKDIM Shut Up James = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ol_8OmXejd0 Grave Cinema = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDblHjr9bw4
The ET of horror movies for Hallobeans. 🤣
I hope she was more disappointed with The Omen and The Amityville Horror since The Evil Dead is better than those movies.
The reason why you skipped this and went straight to the sequel is that your audience said you did not NEED to watch this one to understand the story since the sequel does a recap. I think people made a mistake previously and I'm glad you went back and watch this now.
If you want a another good Sam Raimi horror movie, I think you should check out "Drag Me to Hell" Good mix of horror and comedy with plenty of jump scares.
This was filmed in 1981 but not widely released until 1983.
Well: didn't they start filming in 1979 and through into 1980? In fact, I'm pretty sure '79 is when they were able to film all the scenes with the 4 actors who weren't Bruce Campbell and "The Shemps." (If you know, you know.)
"Is it possible to get splinters in your vagina?" That just the question I had after seeing the trailer for Wicker 😂
