LAST MONDAY HALLOBEANS POLL

our last Monday poll during hallobeans.. how has it gone so fast?

TBH.. this might be cheating for me.. but it's a bunch of movies I really want to see. some new, some sequels.

Multiple Choice - vote for your favorites.

Here is our current rundown:

10/12 Christine
10/14 Charlie Brown & Garfield double feature
10/16 The Evil Dead

10/19 Insidious (because I really wanna see it and it did pull ahead)
10/21 Happy Death Day
10/23 Paranormal activity 2

10/26: THIS POLL

SPOILERS TO REACTIONS BEYOND THIS POINT

Christine: I know the videos just went live but just incase you haven't watched it - I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Fun. Kept me guessing. Loved how Arnie changed as he got more engrossed by the car. Definitely didn't have to be a nigthvision one but I really loved this concept and I loved the classic car (still oddly disappointed we never got a Christine and Arnie sex scene.) ALSO why was Arnie's mom SUCH a bitch??

Charlie Brown and Garfield: SOOOO cute. I mean - this was my second peanuts and it's just as funny as the first. I make the comparison to the Muppets in that; I never realized how "adult" these can be. Like - the humor is for kids and adults and I love that. My first time watching garfield! So fun - my main question.... are we hearing the internal monologue - can the humans are Garfield hear it to??

The evil dead.... bro. I see why we skipped it the first time. Don't get me wrong - a few jump scares. and I do love a young Bruce Campbell. but like... 100% the weakest one for me in this hallobeans so far - even behind NoES4. BUT even with that being said - I still have finally completed the trilogy. Evil dead 2 and army of darkness is on the channel already!

INSIDIOUS - FUCK MEEEEEEEEEEEE. IT WAS SO GOOD. LIKE scariest one so far, slightly above Quiet Place. SOOOO good. WOWOWOWOWOW like I am so happy I watched it and I hope you are too

Happy Death Day: FUN. FUN. FUN! Didn't guess it at all. SOOOO good. Definitely want to see the second one soon! (all I'm going to say about this one IYKYK)

Paranormal Activity 2: SO GOOD. I loveeeeee how the stories overlapped and intertwined. THAT ENDING????? also I've seen where you've said there are other endings to the first so I'll probably check that out and make it into short form content.

Let’s go for a swim.

Just wanted to mention the passing of Eva Marie Saint today (Oct.6) and I would like to recommend North by Northwest (1959) as an in memoriam film of hers for Ashleigh to watch. She was 102 years old at her passing. RIP

M
Mr. Mindgames · October 7, 2026

That would be a great tribute indeed. In fact, I'd love Ashleigh to watch a few more of Hitch's films, since she enjoyed "Rear Window" and generally seems to like the thriller/suspense genre. She could do a Franchise Friday dedicated to Hitchcock, perhaps, for a month. "Rope", "Vertigo", "Dial 'M' for Murder" and "Strangers on a Train" would get my vote!

I'm a little sad that the Saw franchise hasn't returned...

J

I absolutely hated Weapons. I know I'm in the minority, the whole time watching it I just kept thinking of ways to make it (imo) a better movie, and then I was ultimately really disappointed by the movie I got.

P
Player0ne82 · October 6, 2026

Hey Ash, when you gonna go Spider-Man Brand new day, it just came out on Prime & Apple TV.

D
Darrell Minor · October 6, 2026

Weapons fits spooky season so perfectly.

C
CapitalEffyou · October 6, 2026

The Dark Crystal - scared the shit out of me as a kid.

P
Pogo Yaga · October 6, 2026

I *still* haven't seen that movie yet. (And I was born, I think, before it came out.)

H
Hole4Hatch · October 6, 2026

OMG please do Smile i really want to see you watch that. Def the best one on the list.

D
Dennis Ott · October 6, 2026

I'm still waiting for a "Hellboy" on Wednesdays—or, for that matter, anything by Guillermo del Toro (Cronos, Mimic, The Devil's Backbone, The Shape of Water, Pan's Labyrinth)

M
Mr. Mindgames · October 6, 2026

Wonderful films and agree that "Hellboy" would be perfect for Wednesdays. The main problem with some of the others, sadly, is that I think Ashleigh has an aversion to subtitles. I'm sure dubbed versions are available, but they always kinda lose something (except in '70s chop-sockey/Shaw Brothers territory, of course...)

I Know What You Did Last Friday the 13th!! Epic parody! Easter eggs & details for days! 🤣

P
Patrick Howard · October 6, 2026

PLEASE do both Obsession and Weapons!! Both are a must watch!

K
Kenn Quist · October 6, 2026

Of course people are voting for the modern slop. Good grief they are all the same.

P
Pogo Yaga · October 6, 2026

I'm not supposed to be obnoxious and agree with someone saying what I just said last week... But: amen. Preach!

e
evil_incarnate · October 6, 2026

Obsession is a terrible movie. It is a well-worn premise, which if you can find a new angle to view it though would be fine. This didn't. The acting wasn't good. The production values were low. It reminded me of a long episode of Tales From the Dark Side. The only thing it has going for it are some good jump scares. I went to see this in a theater, and I was fighting walking out every 10 minutes hoping it was going to get better. It didn't. I will say this; it was better than "The Howling 2: Your Sister is a Werewolf". The only movie I've ever walked out of.

R
Robert · October 6, 2026

"Low production values" brudda it was made for less than $1m, all things considered it looks amazing, and feeling like an extended episode from an anthology series isn't a bad thing. It usually means it's a high concept, which this is i.e. the theme of free will and obsession (from Bear as well as Nikki). By the same token I think Weapons is overrated; tonally all over the place, lame cheap explanation, and doesn't follow through with ideas it sets up.

s
ssb031 · October 6, 2026

I know I'm one of the only ones, but I'm pulling for I Know What You Did Last Summer. It's one of the classic ones like the Scream franchise. If you've seen one, you should see the other.. and since you've already watched all of the Scream movies....

P
Pogo Yaga · October 6, 2026

I've never seen an Un-fun reaction to I Know. It's so easy to poke fun at.

R
Richard Stegman Jr. · October 6, 2026

Weapons is crazy fun!

P
Pogo Yaga · October 6, 2026

That's how I pretty much felt about it, too. Some people think it's great, some think it's not good at all. I kept it simple = I've seen too many duds recently, just give me something to *enjoy* and Weapons at least is very enjoyable.

J
James McEvoy · October 6, 2026

OBSESSION!!!

T
Tim MacKay · October 6, 2026

I know what you did last summer!! Please!! Obviously 1997 and nottttt 2025 lol

P
Pogo Yaga · October 6, 2026

I can now say - and this is controversial - I like *All 4* movies in the "franchise." (Yes, I actually liked I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.) But the real gem in the series is: I Still Know.

C
Charlie Heist · October 5, 2026

I will say this here, because I say it everywhere. Weapons is not a good movie. "But you just don't get it..." Fine. It stinks. Not scary. Not captivating. I think people say they like it because they are "supposed to" if you "know" movies. BLAH!

K
Kenton Kruger · October 6, 2026

I'm certainly not going to insult those that like it as being some kind of sheep, but I do agree it's not a good movie and I don't understand the praise it gets. The format of the storytelling is done in an interesting way, but the payoff to the mystery part is dumb.

M
Marnie · October 5, 2026

ogh u simply must squeeze in weapons And obsession 😖

O
Offred84 · October 5, 2026

Observation!!!!! So disturbing. I was having a conversation with a friend and I started shaking I was getting so upset 😡

s
sb · October 5, 2026

Weapons and Obsession baby!!

M
Marjorie · October 5, 2026

Warning for obsession even though I desperately want you to see it. Every reactor I know has been fighting the copyright to death for this movie. Universal sucks 😡

T
Tyler Foster · October 5, 2026

While I want Ashleigh to react to Obsession, currently rooting for Weapons to beat it. I like the idea of potentially slotting Obsession in as an evil Valentine's Day pick, suggested by someone below.

P
Pogo Yaga · October 6, 2026

Me, too. #TeamWeapons !

M
Michael Tocci · October 5, 2026

Guess it's just gonna have to be Weapons and Obsession, right everyone? RIGHT?

V
Vmedichalo · October 5, 2026

I feel like this would be diabolical, but maybe Obsession should be for a special Valentine's Day

Y
Yonatan Zunger · October 6, 2026

Okay that would be awesome

P
PieHard13 · October 5, 2026

I went for Obsession, just so you'll know why she wins the Oscar next year.

M
Meredith Shivers · October 5, 2026

Ashleigh, when are you going to watch last year's Hallobeans winner's pick "Urban Legend"?

P
Pogo Yaga · October 6, 2026

I know, I LOVE that movie. Movie fact: several popular 1998 songs made it into the movie ("Zoot Suit Riot" by Cherry Poppin' Daddies; Crystal Method who are also on the Spawn soundtrack) but are not on the CD soundtrack to the film.

B
BuffTuxedo21 · October 5, 2026

Garfield talking is internally. 😉☺️ (well other animals can here him, but not humans) You need to watch the Christmas one this year!! It’s funny and really cute!! ❣️🎄

D
Dissonant Bard · October 5, 2026

Never It Follows. Not a huge fan on the genre but it is my favorite in the genre

C
Cal · October 5, 2026

Though all my hope is going for Obsession and Weapons, it’d be kind nuts if she knocked out the entire Paranormal Activity trilogy in one Hallobeans.

T
Tyler Foster · October 5, 2026

Perhaps you're just sorting it into a trilogy because trilogies are popular, but there are currently eight Paranormal Activity films, although she would only ever do seven of them. The primary series is these 7 movies: • Paranormal Activity (2007) • Paranormal Activity 2 (2010) • Paranormal Activity 3 (2011) • Paranormal Activity 4 (2012) • Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014) • Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015) • Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (2021) The eighth movie was made before they knew it would be a long-running phenomenon. It was made exclusively for Japan, by the local distributor there for the original movie. As such, it would probably not be considered canon (and I don't think it has ever been made available to watch in the United States): • Paranormal Activity: Tokyo Night (2010)

M
MadLove · October 5, 2026

The Evil Dead being the weakest is like a knife to the chest 😭 It's my favorite franchise. Not a single miss (including the show and comics), and the first film ranks #1 for me. I do love that you're enjoying Paranormal Activity. It's tied with Hell House LLC as my favorite found-footage franchise.

P
Pogo Yaga · October 6, 2026

I just watched all the 2010's, 2020's Evil Dead movies this past month and now I need to rewatch Army of Darkness... so I'm close to agreeing with you. But: now that I've seen the 2013 remake twice, I can confirm it is a weak film in the franchise. Very weak. Like = a bad movie weak. But... those words are coming from me and I am only one person.

S
Susan Holly · October 5, 2026

No Saw II?

b
b nope · October 5, 2026

Damn it! I accidentally voted while trying to scroll down 🤣 ... Welp, at least it was for Insidious 2😅😅

J
Joe Blankenship · October 5, 2026

I think I know know know KNOW KNOW KNOW which movie will win.

P
PieHard13 · October 5, 2026

I see what you did there

N
Nostalgio · October 5, 2026

I voted for Weapons and Obsession. Both will be a good scare for her, one is slightly more intense than the other, but just so she can see something worthy for the week of Halloween I wanna say Obsession. Weapons is more of a summer horror flick. Whereas Obsession has that Fall vibe to it. 🍂🎃 I still say Terrifier for next Hallobeans!!

L
Lynette Cummins · October 5, 2026

I say we keep rolling on the Insidious train. 🎃 I love the part in Christine when she puts herself back together.......creepy.

P
Pogo Yaga · October 6, 2026

I *did* think the 2nd Insidious had great jump scare potential... But: Sinister is creepier. I really think that would make a much better reaction this year if there's time.

J
Jason Nunez · October 5, 2026

Please look into Sinister 2012. Very scary with creepy kids.
