Personal opinion, but I think you can go ahead and jump to New Nightmare. Honestly parts 4-6 suck imo.
If you want to watch Freddy vs Jason, you’re going to have to get caught up on your Friday The 13th watching. The past couple of years you’ve had perfect opportunities to continue on with Friday The 13th, yet chose not to. Including having October 13 landing on a Friday. But because you were watching a specific movie franchise on Fridays that Hallow-Beans, you chose not to continue the Friday The 13th franchise. Then September 13 landed on a Friday, and you didn’t watch a Friday The 13th movie on that Friday. Now, it’s okay if you don’t end up watching Friday The 13th Part 4 this Hallow-Beans. You still have lots of horror franchises to go through (I personally hope you get back into the Halloween franchise this year). However, November 13 will be on a Friday, two weeks after Halloween. That’s close enough to the Halloween season to not necessarily be “out of season” and will be approximately be ON Friday the 13th. So this October you’ve seen Nightmare on Elm Street 4, so this November you should be watching Friday The 13th 4. At least in my opinion.

Yes, Freddy gets a little cheesier, but I find him, out of all the scary movie bad guys, to be my fav. I love that the characters now have their own powers to try to defeat Freddy. This one did have some memorable deaths. Some I wish I could forget. Like the cockroach death. Eww..
Yeah, your reaction to this one pretty much matched my (and I think most people's) feelings on it when this one came out. It was definitely considered a bit of a disappointment at the time. The next one is better IMO.
My wishes for Hallobeans: 1) The Fog or The Changeling FINALLY winning a freaking poll 2: (REC) finally makes a damn nightvision poll 3) Tucker and Dale vs. Evil makes a Wednesday upload (its supergory and violent but so damn funny and more than a little bit heartwarming)

Yeah, I'm not falling into secret phrase development hell this year. I get all pumped to type the secret phrase but alas, no wins for me.
