My first Halloween, how does it work with the secret phrases?
They get progressively more silly, but I love them all…okay, not Dream child as much, but the creativity they bring each time, hit or miss, makes me really enjoy them. Great reaction as always. Can’t wait for the rest of Hallowbeans. 😁
The Freddy movies get cheesier as you go through the series, but the deaths get very creative because of it. If your goal is to get to Freddy Vs Jason, you actually don't need to go further in this series. You know the routine, and the beginning of FVJ doesn't connect to the ends of either franchise. After you get past the fifth Jason movie, it's the same deal. You know the characters, and FVJ doesn't connect. Please skip "Jason Goes to Hell" and "Wes Craven's Final Nightmare." Those movies are horrible, and no one likes watching them. JGtH is before "Jason X," which is worth watching, but you don't need to see JGtH to understand it. Mythbusters actually tested a kill from Jason X.
ASHLEIGH DO NOT READ: SPOILERS! Believe it or not, Freddy vs. Jason actually respects established continuity, picking up right after each killer's canonical death in Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare and Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. It’s one of those rare slasher crossovers that genuinely tries to maintain horror lore. Here is how it connects: Freddy: To keep him dead, the Springwood parents erased every record and suppressed all mention of Freddy when they realized their children where no longer being killed in their dreams. Without fear or memories to feed on, Freddy is powerless—trapped in a state of death until a teenager remembers him. Jason: He is literally stuck in Hell following the climax of Jason Goes to Hell (as rough as that movie is, New Line Cinema made it canon). Jason X doesn't contradict this because its timeline takes place much further in the future. So when Freddy invades Jason's mind at the start of Freddy vs. Jason, he is literally pulling Jason out of Hell to reignite fear in Springwood.
