Roddy Piper used to be a long time pro wrestler who went by the name Rowdy Roddy Piper, real name Roderick Toombs.
Just pointing out that Holly was a collaborator. She was from the very beginning. The aliens rewarded the human collaborators with wealth and positions of power and influence. Holly had a high ranking position at the TV station, lived in a fancy house, drove a nice car, and was completely un-phased by the fact that the world was being controlled by aliens from another planet. All of the clues were there, we just hoped that it wasn’t true.
Wow. Holly has amazing eyes! I've had contacts for about 25 years, and I can put them in anywhere, no mirror. Just boop, pop 'em in. That was how it ended? huh. Ok. lol
My husband and I like to watch the movie quizzes on YT since we're movie buffs. We did one this weekend and THIS MOVIE was one of them! i was like, "OMG, Ashleigh JUST watched this!!" I almost couldn't remember the name, but luckily I did. LOL
"The white guy" lol. I know, I know. Zero reason to know who he is but I'm laughing that Roddy Piper boiled down to "The white guy."
I really love this movie - it's so damned prophetic. Interesting parallels to The Matrix - I hadn't really thought of that before, but I definitely see it. On the one hand, I love Rowdy Roddy Piper, and don't want him to be forgotten, but on the other, I think I agree with you that this would be great fodder for a remake, because its message IS very important, maybe even more now than it was then. I've been one of those folks looking forward to this one, and I'm glad you finally got to watch it and enjoyed it.
