I can’t believe she hasn’t seen Sleepaway Camp! It’s less of a horror and more of campy (pun-intended) mystery that just happens to be a slasher. The kills are over-the-top but so inventive. And it has one of the craziest twist endings in film history! So many good ones on this list, but Sleepaway Camp just for her jaw-drop at that ending shot, haha!
Candyman (1991) for the 90s The Car (1977) for the 70s
Unfortunately the majority of these I have never seen so I can’t really vote for them. Ashleigh might like Re-animator but I can never watch it again because of the vomit inducing factor! My ex husband forced me to watch it with him and it literally caused a huge fight! 😂
I love the movie Christine I have a cousin whose name is Christine and she was born in January 1983 the same month that the movie came out that being said my name is Misty and I have yet to see the movie with my name in it Play Misty for me 🙃🙃🤟
Christine is just a movie about car problems
I'm pulling for Sleepaway Camp.
Christine I feel is another that doesn’t need to be in night vision so maybe save it for a Wednesday upload.
Some good films here. Reanimator, sure, but House, Christine, and definitely The Fog. As an aside, I got a chance to meet and hang out with Adrienne Barbeau (star of The Fog) at a con many years ago, and she was just an absolutely lovely person. Super friendly and charming, with tons of neat stories, who seemed really appreciative of her fans.
Pop culture is Cristine so not surprised its winning Others are just as good but never really a pop choice.
The Gate?
Please House is so good!! Or Sleepaway Camp is great too
Nobody ever reacts to The People Under the Stairs 😢
All of these are excellent, if in slightly different ways. But for night vision HalloBeans I think "Re-Animator" with its fantastic practical effects would get some good reactions.
The Fog is a classic! But Christine is a great time too. Both John Carpenter flicks so you should be thoroughly impressed with either of them.
Ashleigh, If you do a 90's poll I would like to recommend Fallen with Denzel Washington. It's really creepy.
She still has her one Hallobeans winner from last year to do, and that person chose “Urban Legend” from the 90s.
I went with Christine. ♥️
Re-Animator is a classic and well suited to night vision. I saw Changing for the first time this year but wasn't impressed. Dead Zone is superb and House is magnificent but that'd be fine for a Wednesday.
I voted for House, the Fog and REanimator. But gotta say, Videodrome is a trip!!
Hell yeah for Christine and Sleepaway Camp :) I'm up for those two '83 classics. Frankly, I find Christine pretty spooky, probably mainly due to Keith Gordon's stellar performance.
The Entity 1982. also, Possession is getting a remake, coming out June 2027
The Fog and Re-Animator are two of the best choices on this list... we don't need to make Ashley afraid of cars and houses.
sleep away camp is SO the move
It's a shame that changeling isn't getting any love it's a great little movie a little slow though but a great movie
It is a great movie. I daresay that I actually prefer it to "The Shining" (unpopular choice, I know!) as a ghost tale. It's very atmospheric.
The Ghost and Mr. Chicken for a Wednesday reaction.
The Changeling & The Fog are losing this much?! They're so good though 🥲🎃
So true, the two best on this list by far
Highly suggest The Prince of Darkness for future lists. Omg House! Severely underrated horror
I love several of them, but The Fog is more of a night vision flick than most of them.
It's nice to see House as a choice. I'm not sure if it would ever win a poll, but I do think it's a fun tale.
House is actually really good. I like House 2 as well for its slightly different take
Wow, I hate to say: Christine and Re-Animator deserve the win but I would almost sell my The Worst Witch soul to get The Changeling to win. Not enough people react to that and it's a classic. It's one of those Amityville Horror correctives, knowing Ashleigh especially didn't dig on that or The Omen, I do think she would walk away more satisfied with The Changeling for sure. But Christine may be the best of these 3 movies anyway. Sleepaway Camp is fab, too.
The Blob 88 is a good one too
It is. I used to underrate that movie so much. But it packs quite the wallop. She likely would appreciate it more than probably any of these others. (And these are all winners.)
Damn, I'm really only interested in The Deadzone, and it's losing?!?!? I hate when that happens, lol
The Dead Zone, though an *alright* choice for Wednesday in a bind / pinch / any port in storm... I'm sorry, great movie and all, would be a tremendous waste of a HalloBeans slot. It's a drama, straight up. With sci-fi on the side. It would be better kept as an In Memory Of if any of its *Still Living* cast members pass away = Tom Skerritt, Brooke Adams, Martin Sheen, Anthony Zerbe, or Christopher Walken. (All of whom are in their mid-70's to mid-90's. So... I hate to say it but. Just wait.)
The Changeling is an awesome movie but terribly underrated. Possession is more art house horror, but it’s worth it considering the cast including the late Sam Niell and Isabelle Adjani who won Best Actress awards in Cannes and the Caesars.(The French Oscars). Avoid the horribly cut U.S. version from 1983. Both are slow burns but, again, well worth the effort.
I wanna watch you watch Re-Animator and/or Sleepaway Camp.
The latter film, assuredly, would be Quite the reaction.
Re-Animator hands down
I feel like... the 80's is so vast and rich, there should always be 2 HalloBeans slots for it *if not* an In Memory Of on the last day of September, first day of November (should someone die, FOR EXAMPLE: Reggie Bannister of the Phantasm franchise died this year AND so did Jonathan Tiersten from Sleepaway Camp.) (Though, yeah, Phantasm is the 70's.)
I would steer away from 'Sleepaway Camp' it's...problematic...
I would have just said: so many other reactors have reacted to it. Its cult status more than anything is why literally Petty Pumpkins, Alanda Parker, Pugga (pillar), Chance's House of Horrors, Kat Watches Horror, EOM Reacts, Tara's Never Seen, You Me & The Movies, Reel Reviews with Jen, Popcorn Reactions, Shut Up James, Grave Cinema, Sista Girl on Films, Snoopers Gonna Snoop, RolyPolyOllie, Something Cinema (and others) have all reacted to it...
It has to be Re-animator. That was a game changer. Plus it will get lots of memorable reactions from Ashleigh.
Reanimator is a must!! This list has several good ones so I hope you watch a few of these
Re-Animator is a superb choice for any reactor, it gives so much and so many opportunities for spontaneity. From Beyond is a good companion piece as a follow up also.
