I'm sorry, I got really disappointed at you hating it. :-( This is one of my favourite Bond films.
I kinda figured you'd have a rough time with the start of Bond-tember this time around -- A View To A Kill and The Living Daylights are 2 of the worst Bond movies, imo.
Y'know, Dalton was the most Chaste of the Bonds -- it was the height of the AIDS crisis, and all the casual bed-hopping was frowned upon.
The Bond in this movie was also the bad guy in Hot Fuzz. He was also in Flash Gordon.

Brought up how Goldeneye was going to be a good end of the month if you had a bad time with View to a Kill and now this. What I should have said is, I honestly think you will be into the Bonds to the end from Goldeneye on. There might be one or two you don't like in there, but my guess is that it's all uphill from here.
One thing you could see involving an orchestra that would bridge the gap between what you're doing normally and getting all dressed up would be that they often play movies in theaters with the score performed live.
My 1st introduction to Timothy Dalton was in the 1980s "Flash Gordon" movie. He also has a great performance in British comedy "Hot Fuzz." I don't think you'll enjoy 007 until you get to Goldeneye.

Underated Bond!! The third film took for ever due to something or other and they wanted to tie him to a 5 picture deal when it got back on track which he didn't want. Shame really.
