TIM CURRY MOVIE

dude.. what the fuck has been the last 48 hours?

Thank you for all your kind thoughts and messages yesterday. It was a hard day for so many of us and honestly my heart is still shattered. I want to watch Rhinestone for her = because I've already seen 9 to 5, Steel Magnolias, Joyful Noise, Best Little Whore house, and Straight Talk.

Rhinestone is a bit harder to get a hold of than I planned but I'm trying.

TIM CURRY MAN.. what the hell...
an actor that NO ONE can replace. and too be honest - he probably saw the news about Dolly was like "Well.. there's no point anymore" and honestly same.

Rocky Horror, titanic, IT, Clue, Home Alone 2, Annie, Muppet treasure island, Hunt for red October, 3 musketeers are all on the channel.

These options - I tried to stick to on screen roles but we're starting to get into more voice acting for Tim.

"The Worst Witch" for Tim Curry tribute during HallowBeans.

R
Robert · August 31, 2026

Gotta be Legend though props for including The Shout, Times Square and The Shadow in there, like the first 2 in particular are deep cuts I doubt many people have ever heard of let alone thought of. Love seeing the spotlight put on obscure hidden gems.

Pogo Yaga · August 30, 2026

I haven't seen Legend (or Willow) so I should find a copy of those for Halloween season. I'm not going to lie... Deep down, I was hoping for Charlie's Angels to win. Just because I thought maybe Legend had already been watched. Like 4 years ago. I don't think CA is a better movie at all. I just enjoy spy / secret agent stuff a lot. I mean, one of my personal favorite Tim Curry movies is 1991's Oscar - the gangster comedy / spoof (sorta). That movie is hilarious and a half.

S
Sassafras and Lemons · August 29, 2026

I would also vote for Oscar.

Just FYI to anyone who has posted support for Legend in this poll, there is an additional poll here: https://www.patreon.com/awkwardashleigh/posts/legend-poll-167850805

T
Thomas M Dolan · August 27, 2026

He's also in "The Worst Witch" if you want to wait for HalloBeans in October. He's also in a Part 2 of a certain franchise, should you choose this for HalloBeans. as well.

K
Kimi Serrano · August 27, 2026

Maybe you could consider watching The Bodyguard because she loved how Whitney Houston covered her song for the movie. She said in an interview that she almost crashed her car while driving when it came on the radio, she had to pull into a Walgreens parking lot to listen to it. Interesting fact is that it was Kevin Cosners idea for her to sing that song for the movie.

R
Richard Smith · August 27, 2026

Just gotta say that Legend is currently halfway (333) to an appropriate number.

Welp. I’m just going to take a moment and suggest doing a poll for Peter Cullen as well. Voice of Transformers’ Optimus Prime.

T
Tyler Foster · August 28, 2026

I would think that if Cullen gets a tribute it will just be The Transformers: The Movie (1986).

S
Shane Plagmann · August 27, 2026

Dont forget Mupets Treasure island. Or did Ashley already see that one?

He is AMAZING in Legend. Easily one of his best performances.

A
Alan Conn · August 27, 2026

On streaming channels, Rhinestone is currently only available on Roku with ads. The whole movie is also available on YouTube. You can get it on DVD on eBay, but the only Blu-Ray copies are the European version, so if you go that route check if your Blu-Ray player is able to play that.

T
Tyler Foster · August 28, 2026

It's been resolved. :)

T
Tony Rogers · August 27, 2026

Legend should most certainly win. It is one of his iconic roles. However, one that is not included on this list that I think you would really enjoy watching at some point is the movie Oscar. It's hillarious. It stars Sylvester Stalone, but Tim has a major part, and is absolutely wonderful in it. It has slapstick, word play, and romance. I really think you would enjoy it.

b
bleepbloopcylon · August 27, 2026

Girl if you liked that dairy milking farm book you are gonna love legend.

k
kayla hensley · August 27, 2026

There’s no way Legend is going to lose, but the Three Musketeers on the channel isn’t the version with Tim Curry. His version was made in 1993 by Disney and well worth the watch.

S
Stephanie Chapman · August 27, 2026

Legend, the theatrical version please. I love this movie and his acting in it, but Tim is in full makeup the entire time and we can't see his wonderful face. - The Worst Witch is also a wonderful option. It's about about an hour long and he's in the last 15 minutes or so. Excellent performance though!

C
CapitalEffyou · August 27, 2026

For the millionth time..... "Oscar" - he's a main supporting character, lots of screen time. AND IT'S GOD-DAMN hilarious, People! "Finucci's, SIT!" And Burton you did NOT watch the Tim Curry '3 Musketeers', put that hoe on the LIST!

D
David Iser · August 27, 2026

Who's number 3? They always go in 3s or 7s.

A
Angela Munoz · August 27, 2026

I say screw it, do two for Tim! Do Legend for live action and Ferngully for animation.

K
Kirk Deighton · August 27, 2026

Tim's Southern US accent as he plays a detective in the old PC adventure game Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, (the one before they went FMV and got a 90s long hair surfer guy to play the role) is a thing to behold.

L
Leigh Taylor · August 27, 2026

I have such a soft spot for Times Square --was just thinking about it earlier this week, in fact, wondering if i still had the soundtrack boxed away somewhere -- a soundtrack that includes Tim Curry tracks. What a talent he was! But no one else saw that movie, so it'll be Legend, and that's OK too. Though I think the Tim Curry we see in Times Square is closer to the *real* Tim Curry than any of his better known roles.

T
Tyler Foster · August 28, 2026

The soundtrack was the reason it was unavailable on home video for so long, but in the past couple of years, it was cleared and a Blu-ray was released. Worth picking up as who knows if it will be rereleased.

s
ssb031 · August 27, 2026

Actually... the Three Musketeers you watched was from 1973 and Tim Curry wasn't in that one. He was in the 1993 version. And it would be an excellent tribute to him!!

Legend if for nothing else the most incredible and most torturous makeup routines anyone has ever have to endured, and of course Tim Curry did.

J
Jassell B · August 26, 2026

The Shout (1978) is probably the most critically acclaimed film he's in; it's a pretty great thriller/horror movie. It's a shame there seems to be no chance it wins...maybe Hallobeans?

D

M
Ms Waif · August 26, 2026

I vote for Legend, he is superb in that role, but someday I'd love to see your reaction to Oscar from the early 90s. It's hugely underrated IMO, and Tim Curry plays such an endearing character.

K
K. Fehribach · August 26, 2026

Still hoping for Oscar. But Legend.

J
Jeb Manning · August 26, 2026

Since it's likely going to be Legend, track down the director's cut. The theatrical cut of Legend spoils what Tim Curry looks like almost immediately in the movie. Which is a shame because it's supposed to be a big reveal, it's one of the coolest villain entrances ever, and it's one of the coolest practical makeup effects ever.

T

It probably won't win, but one day please please please watch The Shadow

J
Jerome Davis · August 26, 2026

My only issue with Legend is that while it is iconic and an epic performance, Tim Curry physically is lost in the makeup. It is also an otherwise surreal and cerebral movie, that really drags when Tim Curry is not performing.

W
Wendy Smith · August 26, 2026

Legend. No question. I've always loved The Shadow, but he's only a supporting character in that one, and not even the main villain. But I do agree on Ferngully, too. He voiced one creepy villain in that one.

J
James Moyner · August 26, 2026

Also while you have watched a version of “Three Musketeers” you didn’t watch the one with Tim Curry in it.

J
James Moyner · August 26, 2026

Ooh. I know you’ve watched a majority of Dolly’s films, but Rhinestone? It’s a pretty bad one. Where In her 1994 autobiography Dolly: My Life and Other Unfinished Business, Parton said of the film “I guess the public didn’t want to see Sylvester Stallone do comedy – or see me do Sylvester Stallone." Go with one of her holiday titles like “A Smokey Mountain Christmas” or “Unlikely Angel”.

R
Rae Rae · August 26, 2026

Um, I don't think you've done the 1993 Three Musketeers. I searched your channel and only saw the one with Raquel Welch not Tim Curry. While I agree Legend is iconic, you really should do the 1993 version as its really good.

S
Scott Jones · August 26, 2026

they always say the deaths come in 3. Maybe Hayden, Dolly and Tim?

P
PieHard13 · August 26, 2026

Three Musketeers, The Shadow, Loaded Weapon 1 are all great, but Oscar from 1991 would be my choice. Not only underseen, underrated AND under reacted to, but also has Clue energy and an exceptional cast.

S
Scott Jones · August 26, 2026

Clue was amazing but no one will be Frankenfurter except Tim.

M
Marstux · August 26, 2026

Fern Gully if you can. Loved this growing up. Its the better Avatar lol.

Legend... so much...

J
Jordan Wyant · August 26, 2026

Legend.

j

Considering that the man was an absolute legend, the choice is clear.

I
Ian Harrison · August 26, 2026

I remember Tim Curry primarily as the title character of the UK TV drama series "Will Shakespeare". Like most talented British actors, Hollywood mainly used him as a villain and it paid off best in "The Shadow"

B
Brian Booher · August 26, 2026

You have 3 Musketeers with Raquel Welch, I don’t think you have 3 Musketeers with Tim Curry

N

You are right, she watched the 1973 - Three Musketeers & not the 1993 - Three Musketeers which had Tim Curry.

Tim Curry can make anyone sexy. Even the Devil. It's looking like a Legend landslide.

C

I have to look up Times Square and The Shout now. Hope they’re great. :)

a

J

Ferngully. You get Tim and Robin Williams

A
Atlas Image · August 26, 2026

Tim Curry and Dolly Parton, Oh my. I always liked Tim Curry, the outlandish characters he took on, they are both one of those people that are one of a kind and will leave a huge gap behind, seems many like that have been lost very recently :-( I voted for Legend and Congo, I just Love both so much, I know Congo wont win and that is ok, seeing it on the big screen made me feel like I was watching another Jurassic Park back in the day and Tim Curry´s character makes me giggle every time, it felt like a true movie going experience outdone only, in my young mind, by Jurassic Park before and Lord of the Ring many years later. Of course many would disagree and I would not argue, It has not aged great and had many flaws to begin with, not a movie I would label as a must watch or for everyone, I am aware of the hate some people have for it, just a fun adventure movie with cheesy horror elements.

T
Tami Studey · August 26, 2026

Legend please

T
Tony Williams · August 26, 2026

Gotta be Legend from this list. I have not even thought about the film Time Square in a long time, but I think I will go back and find it because of Tim and the fact that waaayyyyyyy back I loved the film.

T
Tyler Foster · August 28, 2026

It was unavailable for decades due to the amount of licensed music on the soundtrack that wasn't cleared for video, but a couple of years ago there was finally a Blu-ray release from Kino Lorber.

I really like Congo, but Tim Curry is so good in Legend.

Also i don't usually get weepy for celebrities, but Dolly… Even as a Swede, she holds a special place. I'm not even a country fan, but man… Books for kids, LGBTQ allyship, vaccine advocacy and also Buffy the Vampire Slayer? As well as all the other great works of charity and philanthropy and just generally helping people out? Yeah, I'm rewatching 9 to 5 and donating money to the Imagination Library this week.

B
Brandon Collins · August 26, 2026

Legend, and it's not even close. It's probably my favorite screen version of Satan I've ever seen. Plus, it's probably one of Curry's most iconic roles. He's great in the other films, but they're all pretty much just run of the mill supporting roles. He absolutely COOKS in this one.
