FIRST TIME WATCHING: Barbarian
Hey folks!
WELCOME TO NATMARES SEASON! 👻🎃🦇🍬🕸️
We're officially kicking things off with Barbarian! This movie definitely kept me on edge, but also pleasantly surprised me in a lot of ways. I'm curious to hear what y'all think of it!
For those who are curious, I watched this on HBO Max.
As always, thank you so much for your support here on Patreon. Until the next one, stay golden! ✨

Welcome to the greatest month of the year 😍
Justin Long having a big “heartfelt” come-to-Jesus moment where he admits he’s hurt people and promises to try and be better, only to immediately prove his words were empty by IMMEDIATELY being a self-serving coward again was pretty funny Also interesting that Tess was constantly apologising and downplaying her pain and discomfort, even saying she’s fine to Justin Long who literally just shot her lmao - meanwhile he’s bitching and crying at every minor convenience
The Boogeyman. It's on Hulu right now... Would've TRAUMATIZED me as a kid. I'd probably still sleep in my parents room at 37 if I'd watched it as a kid. My house during the day, my parents' floor at night, with a light on. Haha. Definitely Natmare worthy.
Hi Natalie, I hope you are doing well. I would strongly advise that when the new Resident Evil movie is available on streaming you break the Natmare rules and watch it. Don't wait till next October. Zach Cregger also directed that. It's fantastic.
First time watching this movie, I didn't like it. Probably due to another reactor giving away a spoiler while reacting to Smile. When the long humanoid monster is revealed, they refenced Barbarian and at that time, I had not seen Barbarian yet. So going into the movie, the surprised was spoiled. But I like it so much more now the second time around. I even like it better than Weapons and I really like Weapons.
Quick recommendation for another poll: "You're Next" great for Natmares and based off some of your comments here I think you'd maybe like it! (It's not anything like Barbarian, just randomly suggesting it lol) Really love that you enjoyed this one! I find it totally rewatchable and love the Tess character. I think it would've been more risky to sleep in her car, even somewhere else, especially in a place she isn't familiar with. She could get arrested if not a rest stop or someone could see her in a car middle of the night by herself asleep. I'm not a woman but I also would have slept in my car if it were me haha. I also think her experience with AJ was essentially no one else is helping and she couldn't just leave someone knowing he would die, no one else was going to do anything. That's sort of what I see as her motivation, and Final Girl characters that survive usually make better choices of course but help others as well, that's usually the ticket.
If people like Justin Long and want to see another weird horror flick, you should check out "It's a Wonderful Knife". It is by no means a 5 star movie but it is highly entertaining.
And Tusk, even weirder horror movie!
FYI for those in the US: this film is now on Hulu/DisneyPlus starting Oct 1
haha of course it wasn't until just after I watched it lol
Less than 5 minutes in : "I fucking hate Natmares season. I'm not happy right now." 😆 Thank you for indulging us, Natalie! We appreciate you!
Couldn't find it on HBOMAX, had to watch on Disney plus.
Zach Cregger is my favorite new horror director after this and Weapons, I'm so excited to see his new movie. I hope you like this more than you liked Weapons haha
The Natmares have returned. Happy Fear-ture Friday Nat. I haven't seen this one before. I wasn't a fan of Weapons or Resident Evil, but I will give this a shot and see what it's like 😊 Post : I didn't find this movie scary, just infuriating. This director just writes characters that are so dumb, and the ending was absurd. I'll stick it with his other 2 similar efforts as movies that I'll never watch again. haha I'm done 😅
