I'm surprised to see some people don't like this one, I actually think it's one of the better "monster of the week" episodes of the series so far, and it stands out for the heavy dramatic tone shift. We get several scenes in a row with basically no comic relief, which is highly unusual for the show even when it veers into more serious storylines.
I'm 3 minutes in, I'm guessing Ted is the 3rd assassin, maybe... Because Drusilla said, 3. But the 3 we saw first was 2 assassins and 1 vampire slayer
The 3rd assassin was the woman wearing the cop uniform at the career fair that pulled out her gun and tried to shoot Buffy.
Maybe think about a release of the Loki season 2 reactions on youtube closer to Avengers Doomsday at the end of the year.
I found your Buffy watch on YouTube and subscribed just recently to watch with you! But you have to do what works for you
I support prioritising videos that benefit your time and energy the most, but I think Buffy would be a sleeper hit on YouTube tbh. It always performs well eventually because it’s fans are always looking for new reactions to it Regarding the blocking of videos, could it have anything to do with editing multiple different episodes into one video? 6 instead of 8 per video maybe? Obviously frustrating given the length of the seasons but it’s just a thought
God I knew I liked this episode but I forgot how GOOD it is! Jenny and Giles development, genuine emotional weight, and Cordelia officially being an active part of the Scooby Gang 😭😭😭 my girl Seeing Buffy have to contend with using her power to kill a (supposed) human being, not a demon or a monster (eh), and the grief and tension that it causes her and everyone around her was really interesting to see, and an important lesson for her to learn Not you clicking on immediately that it was his food 😭 I never suspected it my first time - granted I was like 10
“I believe the subtext here is rapidly becoming… text” god I love this show
I probably like this more than most but I get why others might not and when you're making 20+ episodes a season you need some filler along the way. Looking forward to the rest of the season reactions.
Not one of my favorites and I usually just skip on rewatch. Jon Ritter is great, but the whole storyline is just too gross for me.
Hi Natalie! Loved seeing your reaction on the "Ted" Episode. Another one where they set up expectations in the first half, exploring how a teen daughter feels when her Single Mom is dating a stranger, who appears more and more menacing, then the big twists come where everyone thinks Buffy killed him, then he is revealed to be a serial killer robot. Great performances in this one, by the whole cast, and especially the guest star John Ritter who had a long career in TV and film, who always played the nice guy until this role. In 2002 he died suddenly on set in another show Here's a great web link that details his work in this episode: John Ritter's Buffy The Vampire Slayer Character Was A First For The Series https://share.google/BHXvzMCSUKY3mH6An Cheers! Dave
i looked at that article and not sure when you read it last but has some major spoilers in it for later seasons
you may get some interest in the Loki reaction since its on marvels must watch playlist they made on disney Plus for Avengers Doomsday so it may be more topical than it was in the time inbetween now and when it came out.
This episode really reminded me of how much I miss John Ritter. Gone too soon. RIP.
Happy "Buffy" Tuesday, Natalie! 😊 RIP always to John Ritter(who played Ted)! Not one of my favorite episodes of the series. But John Ritter is so great in this role. Already looking forward to the next episode reaction. Have a great day today! Stay Golden! 💛
Featuring The Overalls of Sadness! You always know it's bad when they show up.
lol
I haven't watched the reaction yet, but this is IMO the worst episode of the whole Buffy series, Yes, worse than Beer Bad. I love John Ritter, but for some reason I have always hated this episode.
I convinced a good friend to start watching Buffy a couple of years ago. She says Ted is the episode that made her fully buy into the show. Until then she was just watching because I asked her to.
Happy Tuesday Nat. We need some light-hearted fun in Sunnydale today after all the trauma of yesterday 😊 Well, it was light-hearted in it's own creepy way hehe 😆 John Ritter was so good as Ted. The perfect menace. Love that final scene too 😊
