FIRST TIME WATCHING: Hellboy (2004)
Happy Feature Friday!
It's time for Hellboy! I enjoyed this a lot more than I was expecting. Definitely more curious to check out the sequel now. For those who are curious, I watched this on Peacock.
As always, thank you so much for your support here on Patreon. Until the next one, stay golden! ✨

Did I watch an extended edition or something
"I am Insatiable" - That would be an interesting watch series?
First one is very matrix-coded (Tight leather edgy stuff), Second one is where it hits it's stride and does it's own thing and it's dope. But still this movie rips.
Vote for HB2
Golden Army is a really good sequel that evolves the characters in a surprising way. Again, you can expect Del Toros unique vision on full display. Absolutely recommend.
Hellboy 2 is even better. Definitely watch it!
Another great reaction. Was fun rewatching this movie. I look forward to you hopefully reacting to the sequel in the near future :)
Natalie. What book ?
Ah. The reveal :)
Hell yeah Hell boy 2, if you had the same version as mine, everything would haave been way clearer
I actually think Hellboy 2 is MORE entertaining than this one, you should watch it. And I've never seen it, but the consensus for David Harbor Hellboy is that it's overwhelmingly trash. The reviews are...entertaining.
Abe was voiced by David Hyde Pierce, who played Kelsey Grammer’s brother on Frasier
You could call pay phones. Their numbers were written over the keypad (or in the middle of the rotary dial) .
You should watch Blade II it's also directed by The Legendary Director Guillermo del Toro.
Hi Nat, the song was “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds — a gothic, blues‑infused track that became the iconic theme for Peaky Blinders and is also featured in Hellboy.
For those watching on Prime Video, I found the version that shows as 1hr 56min long syncs up.
Yes! Hellboy 2 was good, as far as I remember. Only seen it once or twice. But I also remember liking David Harbour's Hellboy because he got an R Rating and was a lot more gory and cool.
The second one is my favourite
Definitely watch H2, I actually enjoyed it more than the first one because del Toro had a lot more freedom to just run wild with the story. This one is fun but I thought it was a little cornier than the 2nd one. The only drawback is he didn’t get to finish his trilogy, so H2 ends on a cliffhanger. And the other 2 reboots of Hellboy were meh (yeah there’s the 2018 version and then an even lower budget 2024 version). What could have been.
HB II yez pliz!
Please do watch the Golden Army, it's a great sequel and quite different frol the first one story wise, but true to the characters. It's also feel more Del Toro-esque
Hellboy 2! Hellboy 2! Hellboy 2! Yaaaaay! hahahaha
Yes, you should watch the second movie too. It is also directed by Guillermo del Toro
Putting Into the Blue on my reading list. Thanks Nat!
I definitely think you should watch the second one. Golden Army is the better movie in my opinion. It's way weirder in a good way and just heightens everything that is good about the first.
Is the version on Peacock running fast or differ from the DVD? Trying to watch along but get very quickly left behind - and this isn't the first time. Does something get screwed up during the video encoding?
it's possible our copies are set for UK versus Peacock being US. it's usually a matter of 1 fps, but as the seconds add up, things get way off. i'm not sure if someone can check that in peacock for us (confirm if it's running in 24 or 25 fps).
Ooh! I remembr LOVING this movie. Been a long while though, so it'll be a fun revisit!
Woo Hoo! After years of waiting! I SO hope you like it enough to watch The Golden Army! You should watch just for the name alone!
Ha! "HE'S A DEMENTOR!"
Happy Feature Friday Nat. Been super stoked all week to watch this movie with you and see what you made of it 😊 I enjoyed your reaction a lot Nat. It was fun to watch this movie again with you. The Hellboy character is a really cool design, and it has an interesting dark magic plot. I always enjoy the scene where Jeffrey Tambor comes good and light's Hellboy's cigar with a wooden match. It's a great moment. Thanks for another awesome Feature Friday Nat 😊
