FIRST TIME WATCHING: Buffy the Vampire Slayer S2E2
Hey folks!
It's time for more BUFFY! Loving how much more Cordelia we're getting haha. Also, letting y'all know that I've decided to continue watching the show on Disney/Hulu since most people seem to be watching it that way or don't mind the resyncing issue.
As always, thank you so much for your support here on Patreon. Until the next one, stay golden! ✨

Hi Natalie, Just to let you know, all of the Cemetery exterior scenes on the Buffy series were shot at the Historic Angeles-Rosedale Cemetery in Los Angeles in the West Adams area. I've been there several times photographing the monuments, vaults, and grace markers, many of them from the Art Deco period. It has a fascinating history. Here's the Wikipedia link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angelus-Rosedale_Cemetery Cheers! Dave
JENNY AND GILES!!!!! My absolute parents, the perfect pair 😭 the nerd and the pixie cut, (formerly) goth girl? Are you kidding?! Back to some regularly scheduled camp with a lil Frankenstein twist, and just a dash of morbidity this week 🙂↕️ It’s fun to see you fully vibing with the show and all the characters after spending the first season getting to know them 🥹 Season 2 is longer but it packs so much into it and starts to move verrrryy quickly, so get ready! 😁 And nobody does a realisation face like SMG, she’s got it down 🫡
funny you made a google joke because Buffy is the earliest know tv show to refernce google and earliest known use of Google as a verb but thats in the final season from 2002 just as google was becoming mainsteam.
Cordy legitimately has the some of best development in the show of any of the supporting characters in the Buffyverse apart from willow and maybe two aother character youll meet in this season and the next.
Hi Nat. I'm one of those that signed up for Buffy. I've never been able to resist a Buffy reaction. Seasons 1 & 2 were filmed on 16mm (specifically Super 16mm), and therefore grainer than seasons 3 through 7, when they switched to 35mm. On top of that the Disney versions, when converted to HD they overused DNR which sometimes make it look worse, or waxy. There are also times when they filmed Buffy in her bedroom at "night", when it was really day. The originals darkened it in post, but the HD versiosn never adjusted this.
Disney Plus doesn't use the HD version in the US. It's the same as the NTSC DVDs except in 480p instead of 480i for seasons 1-3. Seasons 4-7 use an unfinished widescreen version that was made by the show's cinematographer, Michael Gershman. But it's not the same as the HD remaster. Disney Plus/Hulu in the US is the only place where you can stream the show and it not be the HD remaster.
Lol Angel just standing there in a copy of Xander's outfit from last episode always kills me 🤣
Happy Thursday Nat. Thanks for another fun Buffy reaction today 😊 Poor Cordelia was very much the damsel in distress this episode, and the way Xander gave her the cold shoulder at the end. Oof! 😭
as a fellow Cordelia fan, i have some amazing news for you but you'll just have to keep watching < 3
Old fashion cars with no remote were just called cars back then. :-)
"This is like a Stephen King novel, it's like Pet Cemetery". It's actually just the exact plot of Frankenstein.
I am super excited for next week.
"I love how not into Cordelia he is." 🫢🫣😶
Great reaction, Nat! This episode is the perfect example of why folks warned of reading the descriptions. So much of the first half is dependent on the mystery and the reveal halfway through and the log line literally tells you he's building a girl for his brother which would have fundamentally changed the reaction.
I hate that they do this, there are easy ways to write descriptions without giving away major plot points or spoilers, I wish they would have an option to turn it off so you don't accidentally see something
"You'll have the body of a 17 year old" They forgot that only the actress and not the character is pushing 30!
Happy "Buffy" Thursday, Natalie! 😊 Cordelia easily becomes one of my favorite characters during this season. I'm already looking forward to your reaction for the next episode. It's one of my all-time favorite episodes of the whole season and series. Have a great day today! Stay Golden! 💛
Cordelia is a favorite of most fans. Her blunt honesty is quiet refreshing.
also her development in this show and the spin off are some of the best
Lol a basic Google search in 1998? Not a lot of people even had internet in their homes quite yet. I had just started college and some of my friends who were still in high-school would go to my parents house just to check their email. It was such a crazy transitional time.
I've been on the Internet since 1995, and unless you were a massive nerd hardly anyone else was even interested in the World Wide Web back then. I remember when Google first launched and it wasn't like there was this huge fanfare; it was just another search engine at the time. Now it's so much a part of our lives that I sometimes struggle to remember how we did things before the internet existed. It was nuts seeing how things transitioned to such a degree.
