FIRST TIME WATCHING: Buffy the Vampire Slayer S1E10

It was mentioned in an earlier episode that the Master is trapped inside an old sunken church Buffy loves to lure you in with campy fun before hitting you with the heavy stuff. There’s a moment in the season 1 finale in particular that makes me sob like, this show was and is one of the biggest shows of all time for a reason! Granted most of season 1 is kinda hokey, and the visuals look particularly bad in a lot of S1 scenes because the HD remaster is the most widely available and it butchers the colouring - but still! Buffy Supremacy!!!

Yeah nightmares are weird when they are so similar. I also have sometimes a dream about not passing some classes for my german high school diploma. And when I lose that, they will cancel my access to university and then revoke my master in physics. Ironically the classes I failed were the english classes. And I more or less learned most of my vocabulary watching Friends and Buffy DVDs because back then german TV only had dubbed versions.

Great reaction video. I think the big cross the main bad guy places his hand at the beginning of the episode is part of the old broken church that his underground lair is made up of. Also I think Cordelia's fear in the episode is being part of the unpopular and "dorky" crowd at her school. She seems like shes transforming into the stereotypical "geeky girls" shown in TV and movies in the 80s and 90s.

My most consistent recurring nightmares/dreams are losing teeth, skipping a class with the grad school professor who scared me most (even now, a decade after the fact), and riding or being surrounded by tornadoes.

Season 2 is where the show really found its feet and after that it was more or less consistently good even the “bad” seasons of Buffy are only bad in comparison to its best seasons. I’d say the weakest seasons of Buffy are still better than 9 out of 10 seasons of most other shows. The Spin off series also has that distinction once it found its feet halfway through the first season (it had a full season 1 order unlike Buffy season 1 which was a mid season replacement for another show so only had half the length) after that point the spin off was just consistently great TV
