Buckle up
Lots of things to discover in the next season! Natalie, you should know that for us who were watching AoT when it came out, there was a 4 year wait between season 1 and season 2. It was excruciating!
NAT reacting AOT = dream come true You'll love next season even more Always appreciated
So excited for season 2
This is my first time watching and I really liked it. Maybe spoilers? When Annie was remembering there was a pov from inside the house window. Maybe it was Eren inside and they are brother and sister? My guess at least. But his father is such a mistery.
You need to squeeze A knight of seven kingdoms in! Short sweet episodes to set the mood for House of the dragon coming through
Knowing who's coming soon makes me really excited for season 2. 🦧
OMG! I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT ILSE'S NOTEBOOK! if you want, i recommend there are 3 extra episodes you could check out. 2 of them is a 2 parter that focuses on levis backstory and how he joined the scouts, but the one i recommend you get into is the OVA Ilse's notebook. this one takes place before some events in season one but setups something for season 2. its not a big deal if you dont watch it, but it gives a bit of context and information on the world. the ones focusing on levi's backstory is great as well, recommend those. they dont affect the story as a whole i say, just gives levi some more context. im not sure how these work on crunchyroll if they even have them. some just go the pirate route with these since theyre kind of up in the air. im not sure how it works but sometimes anime will have special animated episodes to a show as nice extra stuff from the studio themselves, same actors, etc, but theyre bonus content to sometimes manga or just on their sites. thats why sometimes they dont always show up in some official capacity.
Hey Nat, I loved this season and can't wait until next week when season 2 starts. Once small thing, IDK if this was mentioned already, but Jean's name is pronounced "John" like Jean Valjean from Les Miserables. You can *kinda* hear it when the characters say his name. A lot of the characters have German and French naming trends. Anyways, I love ALL the content and can't wait to get deeper into the series!
This is the reason I ended up watching the dub. I found it really hard to hear people’s names with the original audio
The animation is beautiful but 4 years between seasons is insaneeeeee, I think I watched seasons 1-3 back to back and still had to wait almost the same amount of time before season 4 (part 1) was released 😮💨 no wonder it felt likeso long to reach the end Excited to see how it plays when you watch it all in quick succession tho, I remember this hype
The “Annie. Fall.” while Mikasa is standing on her face was COOOOLD! COLD!!!!
Very impressive pickup on the intro Natalie ^^ I cant recommend enough that you watch some of the OVAs (apparently its called OADs on Crunchyroll) going into season 2 especially No Regrets part 1 and 2 which gives some of Levis backstory and its so good.
This time the break was a short side story that adds to the intrigue a little bit. I'll add it below if you want to read it. What We Can Share So Far: The Walls (1) - The year 784… One blistering hot night, a miner decided to dig under Wall Sina, to live within the inner ring. "Life in Wall Sina would be pretty nice." That thought had come to him suddenly a few days ago as he dug with his shovel deep in a coal mine. In a way, you could call it divine inspiration. And so, for the next few days, he wandered along the wall finally settling on a spot where the dense forest pressed against it. No one would chance upon him, and the overhead leaves would shelter him and his task from the prying eyes of the guards above. On the next night, he began. Using his trusty shovel the miner began to dig. The work went smoothly, and before long, the pit was as deep as he was tall. When he could no longer fling the dirt outside it, he stuffed it into sacks, climbing a ladder to discard it. Completely dedicated to the task at hand, he took only a few short breaks to drink water and to ease his weary muscles. After spending twenty years of his life digging without a day of rest, the miner knew he was an expert at it. And during that time, he'd learned to dig deeper, more quickly, and more efficiently than anyone else. Tunnels that would stump any other miner were no match for his shovel. But that was different. He dug for hours, yet never seemed to get anywhere. As he dug, he probed to either side of the main pit with his shovel but it was of no use. The wall's foundation seemed to go down forever, deep into the earth, blocking his path at every turn. Still, he persevered. Any thought of digging his way to an easy life inside Wall Sina had been long forgotten. He simply wanted to conquer the wall. "I'm willing to bet all the years I've spent digging that I will beat this wall." He said to himself, wiping the sweat from his brow. The hole was more than four or five times the miner's height when he struck hard rock. He wondered, "Bedrock?" But it appeared to be the same material as the wall's foundation itself. The miner swung his shovel down hard on the rock. The shovel shattered, but the rock was unscathed. The miner sighed, and his sigh was deeper than any hole he'd dug in the previous twenty years. What We Can Share So Far: The Walls (2) – With a frown, his friend questioned, "The wall?" "It's weird isn't it?" the miner said, lifting his drink to his lips. "Who knew that the wall went so deep underground?" The pair sat across from each one another at a table in the back of a tavern in a seedy part of town. Most days, the miner would go there with his friend, his only friend, after work. That day, the day after he'd tried to dig under the wall, they'd gone there as usual, once the workday was done. And then, the miner told his friend the story, certain that his friend could keep a secret. "Maybe we're surrounded by walls not only above the ground, but below the ground too." said the miner. "Tell me something… What, exactly, are the walls?" His friend cut him off with a cough, glancing around the tavern. The patrons were all busy drinking, hitting on the tavern maid, or yelling at one another. No one was watching the, But even so, the miner decided not to say another word about it. If anyone heard him, the Military Police would be there in an instant. "Does it really matter?" his friend asked. "Just keep on living here as you always have. You're poor, but you have a job every day, and enough money that you can drink. Isn't that enough?" "Yeah," the miner replied. "Yeah it is. I'll go back to digging. In the end, I guess that's my lot in life." But the next day, the miner didn't show up for work. Nor the next… Nor the day after that. His friend went to his house many times, but never saw any sign of him. The miner had no relatives, nor other close friends, so there was no one to ask where he might have gone. Unsure what to do, his friend eventually went to the Garrison, and told them the whole story. The next day, the Military Police and the Garrison organized a large-scale search party. It was a little excessive for one poor miner, even if that miner was a criminal who'd tried to pass under the walls. His friend couldn't understand why they were so bent on finding him. But they never found a trace of the miner, nor even the pit he'd dug. And one day, his friend also vanished, never to be seen again.
Just a couple things to note going into Season 2, as I believe the translations on Crunchyroll are changed to match the blu-ray versions for season 2 and onward: - "Aberrants" might be called "Abnormals" - "Survey Corps" might be the "Scout Regiment" or just "Scouts" - Some names might be spelled differently (Mike might be spelled Miche, Krista might be spelled Christa, Zhiganshina aka Eren's hometown might be spelled Shiganshina, Bertolt might be spelled Bertholt, Armin's last name might change from Arlert to Arlelt, just off the top of my head)
thanks! As if I wasn't confused already haha
Nat im tellin you, the best is yet to come.
eren being on fire was an anime only thing and wont show up or be referenced again. the reason im saying this is just to kill any theory on an element that only exists to give the action more of a visual impact. also, for the most part, the seasons are quicker and pick up, animation im not, it never bothered me overall but it does become more actiony and more plot heavy. also, nice catch on annie in the opening. yes, nice catch indeed. was a good catch of you noticing that.
It’s one of the few complaints I have about the adaptation. In the original manga, he has a short character arc after the deaths of Levi squad where he doesn’t want to put his trust in his comrades to avoid more death, but then they’re all needed to work together to defeat the female titan in Stohess. In short, Eren recognizes that while the Scouts on their own couldn’t defeat the Female Titan, he couldn’t defeat her alone either, and that he needs to double down on teamwork and trusting his comrades and believing their trust in him moving forward. In the anime, for some reason they just put him on fire haha
S2 is way better than S1 and only has 12 eps.
Did she not notice that there was a titan in the wall lol?
I think she did. She said the walls were about be broken.
That 4 year wait felt like an eternity, excited for season 2!
Happy Wednesday Nat. Let's see what happens in this finale then 😬 That was a cool episode. Glad that they left everyone around for the next season, and have left plenty threads to explore. And that final shot haha. Season 2 is half as long. Only 12 episodes. Curious to see if it's going to be a more compact story. I've got my blu ray all ready for next week 😊 Thanks for your awesome Titan reactions this week Nat. Excited for Braveheart on Friday 😊
