the only thing I caught that was kinda cool was that maybe Ben is actually Peter's Uncle or if that was just an omage. But they said that he was happy to be an uncle.
well im not trying to be funny i start getting a headache half way through this movie but i finish it and yeah there was no way i could watch this with out someone pointing out the bad takes on this movie like u did
i was like we both can critique this together lol only way for me to watch this movie i tried watching alone and i couldn't last 30 min till i said screw this but i saw where u watched it and i was like well your honest about what you watch and as soon as it started u were like basically on the same page as me so lol this be my first actual watch of the full movie
I tried to watch this early on, but couldn't. First because I wasn't going to fork over $20+ to watch, then again when it was little less. I had some Amazon credit so now it was "free". I just want to say, in case one of the other comments didn't (I tried to read the other comments but some of them devolved into weirdly pointless arguments), there were no train apps when this movie takes place, which is 2003. Paying for things via your phone was still a huge novelty, if you even had a phone (though I did find it odd that only one of the girls had a phone, since even in 2003 I would think most teen girls would've had phones even if just for safety reasons, though payphones still existed here and there.)
This movie was finally added to streaming today. This seems like the best way to watch this. Thankful for your sacrifice Natalie 🙂
I am 3 months late, but I came back and watched this, in full. I was never gonna see this movie on its own, I was SO HAPPY when I saw this in the backlog when I got back on patreon. Great entertainment, the several deaths you died made me laugh so much. It's everything you said, and I'm sure a few things you didn't say. I beat you to the "Who wrote this??" by half a second that one time. Here's to many more.
Has anyone told Nat that the Baby is Peter Parker
I was just saying this about how Ben is his uncle Ben
I don’t think I would’ve finished this but I kept laughing at Natalie laughing at how bad this movie was so I kept going lol
yeah if you can watch this, then we need a shrek 3 reaction, why would anyone ever waste time watching this movie
if you can watch this you can watch the Marvels hahaha
The soundtrack was my first hint that this was an early 2000s setting, and also my favourite part of the movie 😂 a waste of Scandalous by Mis-Teeq tho, they were literally just walking up to a diner… Also the fact they were watching Scream 2 in Ben’s apartment 😭 a sign for your next reaction I think 🫡😅 This movie sucks but in a way more entertaining way than Morbius imo, some of Dakota Johnson’s line readings genuinely made me laugh “But I don’t have a neuromuscular disorder?”
This one made Morbius look like Endgame
It is kinda ironic that (at least in my opinion) the best movies with female lead roles tend to be older. For example silence of the lambs, alien or kill bill.
This will be the first reaction I watch without watching along with you. As a Cenobite fan, I get the idea behind wanting to cause great suffering. But I have to say, you're on your own with this one.
Instead of making a good Spider Man Movie with Miles Morales to keep the license, Sony rushed this to the theatres. To think you only need to checkmark some fake ideologies and woke wash your Movie is Hollywoods biggest mistake and it costs them, Disney is a prime example. Its so sad to see them fail while they could make great movies with diverse Characters and/or female leads. They just had to make it not forced and not to obvious that all their ideologies and behaviour are all fake. They dont care about diversity or representation, they just want the money.
That was a lot of words. You didn't need that many.
Unlikely I'll ever watch this movie as its reputation is so formidable (much like Morbius before it). Slightly tempted to watch with Nat here, but collective hate-watching has never been my cuppa tea.
Finally watched this. Bafflingly terrible movie. Kinda loved it. Maybe that’s going a bit far but I had fun with it. And I also had fun trying to figure out when Natalie would finally realise that it’s a period film. I haven’t read the comments but I’m sure plenty of people have already pointed out that Ben is Uncle Ben, and the baby is Peter. I’m sure Nat would have been able to piece that together too if she didn’t forget that the movie is not set in the present day, because they weren’t exactly subtle with the hints lmao.
The Room is totally more enjoyable to watch than this torture
I'm just here in the comments to see fellow patreons scream to Nat that: THAT BABY WAS PETER PARKER AND HER COWORKER WAS UNCLE BEN! 😁
This movie's dialog is almost as cringe as The Room
It was pretty uninteresting to watch tbh.... I dunno what they were aiming for but it sucked for me.
This movie was written by A.I
It was a bit surreal. It was like watching an episode of a series with an 80m production
Man, it's wild watching an 80M dollar film not even have a basic understanding of how to write a story, the villains entire motivation is to kill the good guys because he thinks they're going to kill him, and the heroes entire motivation is to not be killed by this random guy that wants to kill them..I had a blast watching this, hardest I've laughed at a film in a while.
Why?
This was a trainwreck from start to finish — from the CONCEPT all the way to the marketing and promotion (Dakota Johnson’s cringey press junket interviews). I’m glad I waited for Natalie’s reaction video to watch Madam Web because I couldn’t bear to watch this abortion a second time. Based on this all-girl superhero movie and The Marvels (and Ghostbusters 2016), I’m dreading the CG animated Spider-Gwen film that has been announced, because it’s not just Gwen — which I’d love because Gwen’s prologue in Across the Spider-verse was PERFECT! No, for inexplicable reasons, it’s supposed to be another all-girl Spider team-up movie. 🤬 I don’t know what it is about these agenda-driven all-female stars, writers, director, editor, producers, etc. action movie projects, but they don’t work. I suspect that they aren’t subjected to the same scrutiny as other blockbuster movie projects, so it’s a George-Lucas’-Prequel-Trilogy situation wherein no can tell them “That idea/character/dialogue SUCKS. Scrap it and do better!” Without the usual guard rails in place, these movies crash and burn.
Natalie... you sunavabich, I'm in....
I just did something I thought I would never do, watch Nat's reaction without downloading the movie. There was just no way I was going to waste $20. But the reaction was pretty entertaining, even as the tedium became apparent. And you're looking at someone who loved "Damsel" and Nat's reaction to it.
All these streaming services I have and it seems like these movies she watches are never on them yet.
1. It's PETER, Nat. PETER BENJAMIN PARKER is the baby's name. His middle name derived from his uncle BENJAMIN FRANKLIN PARKER. 2. GAWD, it's so funny how carefully they were tiptoeing around NOT saying anything close to Spiderman, Peter or even "wall-crawling". "Boy, we sure should get away from that ceiling guy, er, spider.....person." 3. I'd be SHOCKED if they threw more money away on a sequel, I mean they were openly mocking Madame Web at the Oscars this year. I know sometimes $ is the only deciding factor in these things but I'm under the impression that it lost money or at best broke even. 4. Last thing, I swear: Madame Web Pitch Meeting reaction? Maybe on your next live stream?
Nat, did you really not catch that her colleague was Ben Parker and his nephew, the baby who was being born this movie, was Peter Parker? As in Spiderman himself? I was waiting for you to realise but it never came. This movie was boring as hell. But I enjoyed watching it with you! It also caused me to draw something which I haven't done in a loooong while. Win-win for me.
Watching bad movies occasionally can be fun, but I didn’t think it would be the vast majority of the new movies we were gonna get. When you said you were gonna start watching more movies I thought maybe we’d finally get into more movies series, like Mission Impossible series or stuff like that. Or maybe more movies you really wanted to see but just weren’t winning polls, some more Nat executive decision movies. Didn’t think we’d be just getting bad movies all the time instead. Sorry, just kind of a bummer to me
Nat needs to crank up the Way-Back machine and start watching movies that have stood the test of time not just the latest Internet darling (if she hasn't seen them before). Casablanca, The Miracle Worker, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and Hitchcock - lots of Hitchcock to name a few to consider.
Could you be more whiny? I tried to watch it but your obsession with constantly whining about every plot point every 2 seconds was like nails on a chalkboard. Did you ever catch on that her EMT partner was Ben Parker - does the name Ben Parker ring a bell? HINT: He's about to be an Uncle.
Yeah, I wish nat would stop being overly critical and just simply enjoy movies occationally. This movie is cringe, everybody knows this going into it, but you can still have fun with it and enjoy the damn thing lol. Its okay to enjoy a bad movie and make fun of it, instead of pick it apart like it should be some Shakespeare masterpiece.
A suggestion for a good movie where a bunch of women take out a villain that you actually want to see die in the worst way - Death Proof!
Way to give away the ending
Maybe I'm just in love with Dakota Johnson too much, but was I the only one who thought the movie was not that bad lool. At the very least, I'd rather watch this than over-the-top CGI snoozefests like Black Adam haha.
The Pepsi sign, I didn’t believe it when I heard it..until I had seen it for myself 😂
Watch the pitch meeting for this.
I was much, much.... much much much... more entertained by the Pitch Meeting for this! But, when this movie is your material, it's super easy.
I'm glad this movie made it to cringe Thursdays, this really is a B rated film discuised as a, A list. This movie makes Ant Man 3 look like a masterpiece.
Didn’t expect this lol
Hi Nat, please do a reaction for The Marvels. I finally watched it last week and it's a lot of fun.
Shhh, all the anti-feminists will lose their minds at that suggestion. But in all seriousness nat would need to watch the ms marvel show first to fully appreciate the marvels.
The empty milk carton with the cat at the beginning broke me 🤣🤣🤣
Nah nah nahhhh. This movie has nothing going for it I'm not sure why they didn't table this entire project.
I would reference a bad line to make fun of it but honestly there's almost no lines that are memorable even in that way lol. Just kind of a nothing movie
As curious about this film as I was, I think this is the only way I'd watch it. Misery is better shared than suffered alone. 😄
I have waited my entire life for this moment.
If you can watch this you can watch Antman 3 and The Marvels which are way better than Madame Web
That’s exactly what I was just thinking.
Me when I got this alert on my phone just now https://youtu.be/SnqZBszJsko?si=eYfNFhyusdOgRBao
Happy Thursday Nat. Thank goodness, I mean damn! this movie is not available to stream in the UK yet, so I guess I will endure, I mean enjoy it with you some other time. Hope you're having an awesome week Nat 💛
