Bonus Episode 248: Elder Scrolls 6, Fallout 5 & Two Remasters — Bethesda's Big Reset
Bethesda finally broke its silence. On July 17, Bethesda Game Studios posted a note laying out the future of Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, and Starfield — and we're breaking down every line of it.
Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas remasters are officially real. Fallout 5 is in pre-production. Obsidian is back on Fallout — and reportedly canceled an Avowed sequel to do it. The Elder Scrolls 6 is Bethesda's "primary development focus"… but after 10+ years there's still no date and no footage. Meanwhile Starfield gets a Year 3 nobody asked for, Fallout 76 gets the Raven Rock expansion in 2027, and new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma is cracking the whip on the whole operation.
We get into the lost New Vegas source code drama, remake vs. remaster, whether Starfield deserves a sequel, Todd Howard's "too early to comment" non-answers, and our prediction for exactly when the Fallout 3 remaster drops.
Is this a real roadmap, or damage-control PR after the Xbox layoffs? For once we're mostly on the same page — but Todd Howard doesn't get out clean.
Who's the better Fallout developer: Bethesda or Obsidian? Drop it in the comments.
