[Move The Chains] | Play Sheet #2 | S01E01
So, been about a month since the last progress report/'Play Sheet'. So, what's changed and why write this? Well, keep reading and you'll find out. You might already have an idea if you saw my Twitter post earlier this morning or yesterday, depending on when this was posted. Probably going to be a relatively short one. That said, here goes:
- So, I'll just get the most important information out here. All renders for this inital release have been completed. We are currently sitting at 995 still renders. That caveat here being that there's some early renders I'm not especially happy with and am re-rendering. Totaling about thirty or so. Fifteen of them are already re-rendered. By a skimming count, there's about fourteen or so left, maybe less.
Edit for bolded: I've decided against doing the other fifteen or so. Looking at the renders again, they're better than I remember. Maybe it was just taking a step away from them in particular, or maybe not. Don't really know. Either way, there's still a scene I need to add a couple renders toward. After that, it's off to animations. And while I'm doing those, I'll be doing postwork on my other system. Sorry to spam you guys, just felt this was necessary to notify Patreons of.
- I also have to add some renders to a scene, probably only five or seven. Ten tops. Ain't about nothing, really.
- With the release of Move The Chains nearing, and this is something I've been sitting on far before I even started working on this, a redesign is needed for Patreon on my end. Tiers are going to be adjusted. With this will come votes on certain benefits such as wallpapers or clothing/hair options for characters. These are going to be Patreon/SS-only, of course.
Along with those, we'll see the removal of the $1 tier. By the time Patreon and PayPal get through that dollar, it's basically gone. It's pointless for both myself and those supporting to keep it that low if the money being used to support my projects/work isn't being seen or put back into assets. The $1 tier will be sticking around for those still on it, but I urge anyone who wants to support but can't afford more than a dollar to keep your money and spend it on something more important than temporary pleasures.
Further, I'm aware that a lack of Discord is apparent. It's taken much longer than I've wanted to get that set up and going, and honestly, for no good reason. It just hasn't seen any progress. That said, I'm putting it together. You should see it before Move The Chains is released.
- A lot of graphic work, honestly. First on that list is working through the log of animations we need to do.
- Second is finishing up the UI. Specifically, the characters menu. Still need to finish making those up for the characters. In addition to those, for the LI's, we're going to be including a small indicator that you're either interested or romanically involved with them. Something like a flame and then a heart for when you're dating them. Works as something like an in-built wiki, I suppose. Will likely add one for pregnancy, as well, though I'm still deciding if that would be necessary for a non-sandbox VN.
- Third is postwork (as you could imagine, post on potentially a 1000+ renders isn't exactly appealing lol.), but will likely be working that in while the animations are rendering.
- Finishing up the writing and adding music + sound effects. There's a bit of writing to do still, but this should get done fairly quickly as I'm playing catch-up to the renders which makes my life easier.
- Lastly is stuff for Discord/Patreon/SS/etc., like tier images, etc.
I'm probably missing something marginally important here, but meh. I'll update this post if I did. That said, I said this was going to be a relatively short one as far as the VN itself goes. There's a couple preview renders to check out above.
I expected this to be out earlier, but with all the shit going on in my life right now, it's taking a bit longer than expected. Starting to pack, still looking for a decent place while going to classes/working is pretty draining as I'm sure most can imagine. But this isn't the place to talk about that, so I'll just end it here for now.
