[Move The Chains] | Play Sheet | S01E01
So, despite the fancy name, this will exist as the first progress report for Move The Chains. I guess I'll start with the where the general state of the VN is, then move on to shorter character and UI updates. Be sure to check out a few of the preview renders above. As is usual, no postwork on them as of yet.
- The initial goal for 0.1/S01E01 of Move The Chains was render-wise was 800 renders. Well, I just hit that and have only introduced a couple characters. I wanted to get a decent portion of the cast introduced in this initial release. Turns out there might be a fair bit more renders than originally expected.
- I still have animations, postwork, and some writing to do. Along with finding suitable tracks. But sans the animations, most of that should be moving pretty quickly, and quicker after I wrap up the reworking of We Were Just Kids.
- As it stands, there's about 1350 lines of code and dialogue (more dialogue than code, obviously, but I ain't gonna count them all.), which only makes up about a quarter of 0.1/S01E01 and isn't including the adult scenes (slightly censoring here as this is a public post.)
- Ain't much else to say here. Just gotta keep chipping away at it, but we're almost there. Gotta say, and maybe I'm just a wee bit biased, but I'm really loving how this is coming together.
- Ria Ariza (may or may not be a stage name >___>) is a bit of a celebrity in MTC, hence the left image. She's been secretly attending Texas A&N with her equally secret boyfriend that MC quickly learns is quite the douche - and what better way to put him in his place than to steal his girlfriend?
Pretty obviously a Hispanic-based character, which was surprisingly hard to pull off. I also wanted a gentler look to her, which I think I achieved here.
Since Patreon are a bunch of dumb dumbs, you can't link videos of any sort here, so I'm just going to drop some Gfycat links and let you look for yourself.
- First are the content toggles (which you might've already seen on either Twitter or a certain numbered forum). I didn't upload it here immediately, mostly because it was a small addition that didn't necessitate an entire post just for it. Which is why it works well for a post like. See here.
- The other is a "Superstar Rating" which will grow based on your decisions. It won't mean a whole lot in the first release or so, but will becoming increasingly important as the VN goes on. See here.
So, that's about it. Nothing major changed, but I wanted to give everyone an update of where Move The Chains stood. It's almost there, just gotta put a little more work in.
