WIP Black knight
Yesterday some of you seemed very worried. So I show you progress in the pose of a knight. It needs at least another full day of work, but the idea is starting to show.
In this case it's a female knight, in case some of you think it's too thin.
Now we need to break the armour, adding holes in the chainmail, and improve and add and more spectral fire in different parts of the miniature.
We have also sculpted 3 horse ts, a living horse, a muscled horse, and a bone horse. The horses are posed at the same time, one inside the other. This will allow us to give the horses very different wounds.
As you can see from the number of pieces sculpted, and the customization of each of the knights, this is the most complex unit we have ever sculpted.

It's nice to see something different from the standard skeletons on horseback. Well done.
Se hacen demasiado raros para mi, el concepto de cacería salvaje podría estar bien, pero estos parecen a medio camino entre los seguidores del hueso de los pueblos libres de Juego de Tronos y la cacería.
Eso es que solo piensas en el videojuego :)
really cool
They look cool, can't wait to paint them.
really like the direction and the execution! Keep it up!
These are great, I am looking forward to seeing when you guys get them painted up later on. The bone with the armour plates will look good. This is the colour I am thinking I will do with mine: https://wow.zamimg.com/uploads/guide/seo/9264.jpg?1574384370 Looking forward to what other poses Last Sword come up with :D.

@Last Sword Miniatures. That's great and interesting news about your ruleset and I am certainly looking forward to it. But I think that most patreons use your beautiful mini's as a count as for ruleset x. I use them for Age of Sigmar. The forest Elves from your kickstarter I use as Shadow Warriors, Eternal guard, Assassin, Nomad prince and etc. for my Cities of Sigmar army. The different types of elf infantry you released with patron I also use as eternal guard. The Demigryph knights are the easist match. ;-). The Kindred Cavalry are Dragon princes and etc.. But these knights, I just can't place. They look like humans or Vampires, but not spectral beings. I mean, I was expecting a third set of human cavalry, but than more themed around death. Like a knightly order of Morr from the old Warhammer. Btw A knightly order centered around panthers would also be fantastic. ;-). But these black knights, I have no clue, maybe it would have been better if were more skeletal, thus skeleton heavy cavalry.
If you want easy transpositions it could be fourth- or fifth-edition mounted tumulars, eighth-edition black knights or with a little aggressive painting Reaper Knights-Hexwraiths. In 9th age they could work as Barrow Knights or Spectral Hunters. There are so many games now that it's very easy to find a use for them. This month you will have Wolf Knights as human cavalry.
I still can't place it. It's the first time I have this with your designs. Are it Vampires, Humans (i.e knights of Morr), Black knights as in Warhammer, what are they? Technically it is a fantastic sculpt, but the aesthetics are not my thing.
I have to second this. First time for me too. Please don't take this critic too personal, but for me there are too many design elements mixed together and the result doesn't want to suit well. The hands before the eyes of the horse are just looking to strange and the idea to hide the eyes is something I don't like. The "ghosty" fog on the bag is something similar. The knight itself has a nice armour and the mace is a interesting weapon, but the head is still to strange for me. For me personal, an other head, removing the major of the horse skeleton parts and the ghosty fog on the rear would make better miniature.... but as said these are only my personal views. Sometime it is better to use less eye catchers and not to be this overloaded. In fact this is one point to be your patreon, your miniatures follow very nice low fnatasy design rules, this is what I like and what I like to paint and see in my army.
I like this one much better :D, thank you. So. if I didn't miss anything, these guys would be sort of spectre-like knights whereas something akin to AoS/WF black knights (that is, skeleton knights wearing heavy armor) is planned for the future as well?
We approach our ranges with a much more ambitious approach than other brands. Instead of approaching armies as projects of 10 or 20 generic units we think of 50-100 highly themed units that we know no one else will do. And the undead faction is easier to extend. The exception is the lizards, which we don't see many interesting avenues to pursue.
Sorry, but I really have big problems liking these designs.
Will they come with other wespon options like cavalry lances or so? One of them would make a perfect black Knight for a jousting tournament
It is still too early to tell. The problem with the lance is that it restricts the pose a lot. It would have to be made into an exclusive body. It will depend on how much time we have to spend at the end of the month. For us the tumular weapon is more important than the lance in this case. Everyone carries a different one.
Could you show a picture of just the bone horse? Is it the horse skeleton posed?
I would have to ask the sculpture team for it. It's really just a tool, and we haven't given it any importance. The horse has three layers. Skin, muscle and bone. That now allows us to "dig" the wounds we want. If you mean could we use the skeleton alone, I don't think so. We don't like normal skeletons because you have to thicken the bone almost as much as the flesh. Otherwise you get very fragile miniatures. That's what results in skeletons that are bigger than humans themselves.
Uihhh...very spuky...I like it :)
