Ted Lasso 4x01 Edited & Full

The only autograph I have ever gotten is Satchel Paige. Still cherished 60 years later. What a great choice sending Higgins to the museum.

The show Shrinking on Apple is by the same group that did/does Ted Lasso. Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) is in it, along with Harrison Ford and a bunch of other great actors. It's really funny and heartwarming. Don't let the first episode scrae you away. it's a bit off the rails.

There were a lot of little things I took note of. The Supermarket Ted is working at is "Fowch's Fine Foods", and the manager is Ronnie. That would be the occasionally mentioned "Little Ronnie Fowch" who once tricked Ted into eating a "Butterfinger" which was actually poo in a Butterfinger wrapper. And, of course, he was eating a Butterfinger. Michelle apparently has a jerk boss named Derek, as did Jade, as did the folks at the Yankee Doodle Burger Barn in Amsterdam. "I fucking hate Derek!" Henry is surely old enough to charge his own iPad. Ted mentioning that Rebecca has "crossed the threshold" for her "Hero's Journey" makes me think this is meant to be Ted's "Call to Adventure". Rebecca finds Breaking Bad hilarious? The new Henry actor also once played a young Luke Skywalker in the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series. Love the Oklahoma callback. Henry's coach is a jerk. I bet he's named Derek. Dazzle Me Moi seems like a shop bespoke for Keeley. The book Ted finds in the sitting on his childhood bed was mentioned in a story Ted told to Dr Sharon in Season 2, when she asked him about a positive memory of his dad. That's "Johnny Tremaine", the book Ted's dad read for him. Ted's photo of Roy has him holding up a trophy. He's wearing a Richmond shirt, so did Richmond "win the whole fucking thing" under Roy? The photo of Keeley is from her photoshoot with Roy, where they didn't use any with him, and it hurt his feeling. Ted has Dr Sharon's Dipping bird next to the photo from Nate. Trent Crimm's article shows that Jamie has, since Ted's departure, left Richmond. Can't wait to see where this all goes.

So happy we get more Ted Lasso! Thundergong was a reference to Thunderdong in the bar Colin went to in Amsterdam. (Beard danced at “Man City”) And I enjoyed the callbacks to Ted’s childhood friends (working under Ronnie Fowch (eating a butterfinger) and then Rebecca buying clothes from Tammy Deneen (who I imagine is Tom’s sister that Ted joked about having a crush on to Rupert at the fundraiser in season 1).

While you may be having to spend a good chunk of change on an Apple TV subscription for this season there is at least one benefit... a benefit for me that is! 😛 The streaming version doesn't run fast like your dvds did so I don't have to mess around keeping it in sync anymore! Felt sorry for Higgins trying to enjoy his ribs and Ted just throwing questions at him but a lovely reunion nonetheless. Although I do wonder when Rebecca was looking over at Ted during the match they were watching, if there is a possibility of a relationship to come from that just a theory but I do feel like they would be a great couple.

That was an interesting start, especially with where we find Ted at first. I didn't expect to see some of those characters again like the Dutchman and his daughter as well as Ted's mother and hopefully we'll see a few more familiar faces back in England.
