Doctor Who 11x08 Edited

This one kept me guessing until the end. I love when it's not totally obvious what is going on and we sort of have to keep guessing and following along with the story.

I enjoyed the Doctor's realisation that life can be difficult at times as a woman. And it's true, especially with the eras they travel to.

Loved Graham's hat.

The ending was pretty fun, though I do think it was a missed opportunity for some playful banter from King James. Maybe that's just me and others wouldn't have liked that HAHA

Alan Cumming is so good as King James, really great casting. The witch trails is such a crazy part of history, surprising it's not done more but a really good episode for sure. The Doctor and companions not dressing to fit the times I feel has always been a bit hit and miss but I think they focussed on it (as in changing outfits to fit the time period) more during Capaldi's run. You could say the reason they could give is like how the Tardis police box is a perception filter to blend in with the environment, maybe the Tardis also helps perception filters with their attire lol So I may be dressed 21st century but to them I look ye olde person lol

I also prefer it when the Doctor and companions dress for the period, but other than that I really enjoy this one. Alan Cummings plays King James with such a wonderfully campy flair that is so enjoyable! You mentioned Ryan and Graham's contributions -- I'll just add that I like what Yaz got to do in this one, too. I like getting to know her backstory more. It makes sense why she decided to make a career as a police officer. I'm dancing along with you to the theme -- I think this is my favorite version of it. The more orchestral versions are nice, but there's something other-worldly about this version that I think really fits for Doctor Who. And you gotta love that bass drop that kicks it off! Maybe it ends quickly, but I don't know -- they escaped from the prison, so if you can turn the prison back on again problem solved. The Morax aliens aren't really the interesting part of the story to me. It's the interactions of the characters, and the exploration of how people are motivated to scapegoat and point the finger at others. Love, love that "mysteries of the heart" scene with just the Doctor and King James.

This is one of my favourite episodes from this era Alan Cumming is just BRILLIANT! I love his eccentric vibes and also his constant attempts to wooh Ryan throughout the episodes. Also think Alan Cumming could be a great doctor one day, probably would never happen but would be amazing if it did, we can only hope 馃.

This was another interesting historical story (which I think tend to be among the better ones in this era), especially with a Alan Cumming as King James. The real king was a fascinating person in his own right even if he doesn't get a lot of focus in media. I think he even had a fascination with witchcraft in real life as well as having his sexuality open for speculation, hence his flirting with Ryan.
