Doctor Who 11x05 Edited
No spoilers from me but if you've not seen this episode before, you might get a little surprise!
I loved getting a bit of backstory with Ryan, though sometimes it seems with 3 companions, it's hard to get to know them as fully as I'd like.
I hope you enjoy!

It's hilarious how many people have seen Ted Lasso before this episode and then all have the same reaction... Oh look it's him! ... Oh wait what happened to him!? lol I like the Pting! It's a cool character, bit like an evil adapose (the fat babies from beginning of series four) think you asked at the end if it died? It didn't, it can survive in space so basically it got fed and nicely floated away with a full stomach, happy endings lol
I really like this episode. I like the cute pting -- why they didn't make a pting stuffed toy, I don't know! I really like the Doctor in this one. I like that she's different from previous Doctors. How many times have we seen the Doctor admit they were wrong? That was good to see. And I love the bit about hope and imagination. (I have a sticker on my laptop that says "Whole worlds pivot on acts of imagination.") I like that we learn about Ryan finding his mom had died and developing a little empathy for his dad, or at least recognizing a bit more the situation that his dad was in. And I like that it's Yaz that brings it out of him -- and how Yaz gets the Doctor to explain about antimatter. And the Doctor being such a fan of the antimatter drive and of Eve. And I like the incantation at the end -- this makes the second funeral that this Doctor has attended. And not just attended: actually wanted to be part of. "Can we join you?" This Doctor is such a team person, everyone gets to help as they can. The movie Alice refers to below is Adult Life Skills. It stars Jodie Whittaker and Brett Goldstein and is really good. And then there's Broadchurch, which is amazing. You'd see so many familiar faces in that!
I was looking forward to your reaction to a certain someone, though I wasn't sure if you'd recognise him without a permanent grumpy expression or getting people to run with red string tied around certain areas ;) He has actually acted alongside Jodie Whittaker before so it makes sense to give her a familiar face among supposedly many others this season from another show she was in (along with David Tennant) and Chibnall produced which I've never watched. It's interesting that you agree with me over the pregnant guy seeming mostly pointless though with 3 companions Ryan definitely needed the opportunity to get a bit more backstory, both expanding on what we've heard before about his dad and new stuff with what happened to his mum. A lot of people thought the Pting was oddly cute and you made a comment or two that suggested the same, which wasn't a surprise.
ROY KENT! I was so happy to see him! I love that he's acted with Jodie before, I don't think I knew that! How cool. Yes, the Pting was actually cute?! Did it actually die in the end... I know it was kinda mean, but... He's too cute to die 🤣
