Ted Lasso 2x9 Edited & Full
I'm guessing this is the second filler episode a few of you mentioned! I was a little confused with this one, as part of me thought it was a "dream" or just not happening. Beard's life in this episode is just so bizarre, and yet I get the feeling this is how it usually is 🤣

I think this is a very interesting episode. Very odd, but interesting. Coach Beard has always had this air of mystery around him. He seems to know too much, have had too many experiences for one man. And then in this episode we see some of that happening: more weird experiences in one night than most men have in a lifetime. Under a lovely blue moon.
I don't know how popular of an episode this one is but I absolutely love it. To me it has a really cool indie movie vibe about it that is so different to any other episode. The last scene where Beard arrives at the office with morning coffees like nothing has happened makes me wonder, how many other mornings has he arrived at the office after having a wild, crazy night? Definitely a few I'd wager. Great reaction as always Juliette. Thanks, and I hope you have a lovely day 💜
I think the same, Neil! It does feel like a quirky indie movie. And i bet Beard has done so many strange things that turning up in those pants doesn't even make Ted blink 😅 It really does feel like we knew so little of him before now. He's a vibrant and beautiful man, our Beard! Thank you for watching, Neil. I hope you are doing okay 💜
Well that was a a bizarre one and like you I wondered whether it was all really happening. One thing interesting about it is that Beard has easily had the least focus and development of all the main characters so at least having an episode focusing on him is something, even if it's not an episode I'd feel any need to really think about or revisit now it's done.
I think it felt so bizarre because we know so little of Beard that it was easy for us to wonder if it was actually happening. He's a mysterious guy and I think this episode has made me see him a bit differently! I hope you've been well, Alice 💜
Hey. Yes this was the second filler “add on” episode of the season that was done after because the studio ordered more episodes. You got it right though, the idea was they made an episode as if the story was about beard and not Ted. That is why it had a whole different intro. It implied that basically this is his life. It was a fun little diversion, but will be glad to be back to usual Ted Lasso centered story next week.
I've watched it again and I enjoyed it more on second viewing when I realised it wasn't a dream 😅 Beard's life just feels so bizarre, but that's the whole point. We see this mostly quiet, intelligent dude for 99% of the time but THIS.... THIS is what his life is really like! It's so funny 😅
