Ted Lasso 1x01 Pilot - Edited & Full
馃挏 Little Update - I will be mostly AFK this week, but there won't be any breaks in the uploads. I am scheduling them all in advance! I'll be a little quieter in the comments, but I look forward to catching up 馃挏
Well here we are! A brand new show for our feelgood and wholesome slot and I have to say it is giving me all those feels already! Ted is pure. He seems like such a positive and happy fellow and goodness, I think a lot of us could do with even a little bit of his spirit!
I know NOTHING about football (we call it soccer here in Australia) but I'm hoping that I learn a bit along the way! I feel slightly like it sets me at a disadvantage, but I've also read that you really don't need to know much about it to watch this show.
I really hope you enjoy this journey 馃挏

Not sure if this be of any help Jules, but it's worth a shot. The issue people are having is that PAL DVDs play at a different frame rate to streaming. The DVD plays a tiny, tiny bit over 4% faster. You could try ripping the DVD and using something like VLC to play it at 0.96% speed. That should match things up (almost) perfectly.
Regarding the syncing problem between DVD and streaming on Apple TV, I noticed by syncing at the beginning and end and looking at the time stamps, that the Apple TV version is about 1:20 "longer" than the DVD version. I put the "longer" in quotes, because I don't think I noticed additional content that wasn't on the DVD, so it would appear to be a timing difference. I can deal with the syncing issue, but it does bring up a question I've meant to ask for a while. The full version is only available on Patreon, i.e. you never post them to YouTube. Is Patreon as conservative as YouTube is trying to enforce copyrights? I was just wondering if you could possibly lighten the overlay you place over the video a little bit, which would make it easier to resync videos as necessary. I may be wrong, but it doesn't appear to me that the same mask is used in the full version as the youtube version, but if it is I can understand that it might add more work, which I wouldn't expect you to do.
That's a great idea! I'll try lowering the overlay a bit as it might help. You're right that patreon is different to youtube. It doesn't have a copyright checker like youtube does, but it's still illegal to share the episode in its entirety. I wish it wasn't, I'd love to just show it properly!! If I upload them to youtube sometimes with the overlay it still gets flagged. Thank you for the helpful advice and feedback! I'll try your suggestion for the next one 馃挏
I hate football with a fiery passion, so I was very apprehensive about this show. But it got me. It's very good.
I have been so looking forward to this. I think you knowing nothing about soccer, which is also what we call it in the US, puts you in the exact same position as Ted. You will learn a few things along the way and we can try to fill in the blanks. But as I am sure you are seeing, it is much more about the people than the sport. It is such fun seeing Ted infect people with his positive outlook on the world. I also had the same issue with syncing. Seems the DVD runs faster than appleTV. I just had to pause every minute or so to catch up.
I'm so sorry, Joe! I didn't realise the DVD would cause so many issues. It's so frustrating. I'm glad I bought the DVD though to be honest, at least I can rewatch it in the future 馃挏
Unfortunately, it looks like the use of a DVD seems to have effected the ability to sync it with the streaming version. It seems to be running faster on your video.
That's so frustrating, I'm so sorry 馃槥
Jules x Ted Lasso is the wholesome equation we're all going to get something out of.
Honestly, I love it so much already!!
Sorry Juliette, I really wanted to watch your full reactions to this show but your copy, likely because it is a DVD, is running fast so syncing is not possible. I ran in to the same issue with your 3 Idiots reaction also. Did you happen to be watching that on DVD as well? DVD is not the best medium to use for reactions unfortunately.
Oh no 馃槥 that is so annoying! I'm sorry, Neil.
Yes! I am so glad you're giving Ted a try. The whole show is wonderful. Don't mind the swearing, that's just how Roy talks.
Roy is very gruff and scary 馃槄 I'm slowly learning their names!
As someone from the UK, I won't be upset whatever you call it. I do not like football at all but have to put up with and over time have learnt a bit about it as my husband and son love it. What is more relevant though, is despite not liking football one bit, I loved this TV show. Enjoy. I am looking forward to when you discover certain things. Just like River Song though, there are no spoilers in this comment
I love that we don't need to know anything about football to love this show 馃挏
