Doctor Who 10x08 The Lie of the Land Edited
One scene in this absolutely took me by surprise... I'm sure you know what I'm talking about! I loved the set up for this whole story in the beginning of the episode. SO cool!
And how could I not use THAT face of the 12th Doctor's in the thumbnail haha Peter has the BEST facial expressions!

When the win is down to Bill's pure love for her mother....I'm not crying you're crying! lol Really like this episode, the whole scene in the ship with the fake regen was intense lol Like Doctor why you got to play us all like that! lol And then there's Missy....Man do I love her lol She's so good! Her and the Doctor having a series where they're actually together rather than trying to destroy one another is fantastic, really interesting dynamic.

Missy is without a doubt my favourite version of the master. I will say I grew up during doctor who's wilderness years when there was no new episodes being produced and broadcast so my first real exposure to the master was John Simms from the 10th dr era. I have gone back and watched doctors 1-7 and saw other versions of the master but even so missy holds the number one spot for my favourite incarnation of that character. Speaking of classic who is there any plans to go back and watch doctors 1 -7? So you can see the original classic stories featuring the daleks, the Cybermen and the master? No spoilers but sometimes modern doctor who really is best enjoyed when you know the foundations that were laid way back in classic who. Even if you didn't want to or weren't able to watch all of classic who there's always the option that you could watch at least one or two classic stories per doctor. One of the other reactors I follow did that on the lead up to the 50th anniversary special and it really helped them pick up on more Easter eggs and references. Just something to think about. Anyway see you in the next reaction :)
I really would like to watch the Classic series, but I honestly don't know how much interest is there or where I'd watch it. DVDs maybe, if they match up with everyone elses? I did think that I could ask for requested episodes for me to react to, and I'd watch the whole series in order but only react to the ones that people really want to see?
Your idea of it actually being the Doctor in the vault is really interesting and would be fun to explore. Do we or don't we want Missy to turn good? I love her so much as a character that I wouldn't want anything that changed her essence. Then again, more goodness in the world can't hurt - and it would mean so much to the Doctor.
I think I would like to be a writer and come up with all these extra weird plots 馃ぃ You're so right about Missy... We love her for who she is. I never expected this journey for her, though!!
This is considered a weak finale to the monks trilogy and there's a bit of a tragic reason for that. Moffat's mother died while he was working on it and he was even making revisions by her bedside, so this and to a lesser extent the last episode didn't get as much polish as he thought it should. It's nice that you enjoyed it and there were still some good scenes like with Missy. It was certainly great to finally see the vault open and to catch up with Missy inside. She has such a great story arc this season.
Missy is honestly fascinating... I'm SO into this part of the story! That is very sad about Moffat's mother dying when he was in the middle of working on these episodes. I can understand why it may have fallen off a bit due to that, so I hope people gave the poor man a little slack 馃様
