Doctor Who 10x03 Thin Ice Edited
I am loving series 10. Just wanted to put that out there! I think Bill is wonderful. Her beautifully human nature is fantastic and so relatable. The Doctor is on fire with his quips and jokes (such a change from his earlier days!) and I'm loving how the stories feel so familiar.
Nardool is, of course, a welcome addition as well 馃グ

It felt a lot like Amy is the beast below
i love your hair
Ahhh thank you!!
I think this episode looks like the setting as the 12th Doctor's 1st episode with dinosaur
YES!! It does!
I love Thin Ice, and am grateful for your appreciation of it. The episode really showcases The developing relationship, and it shows how much the Doctor has learned from his mistakes with Clara. This is a MUCH better way of giving his companion agency, and also a much better explanation of his apparent indifference to death than his efforts in S8. Bill and the Doctor both look amazing.
The Doctor and Bill have such a delightful relationship. I really love her. It feels like she's given the show a fresh feel, doesn't it 馃挏 And she's going to be so good for him, I think!
Bill is great! Only three episodes in and their chemistry is already really good, it's kind of half teacher/student half parent/teenage child lol It's a lot of fun. Also that scene where they talk after the kid goes through the ice is so good, with the doctor explaining why he has to be the way he is and trying to cut through the emotion led thinking into kind of like logically way of thinking, yes the death is sad but he if doesn't keep going there will be more, the line of 'I don't have the time for the luxury of outrage' is very powerful. As was him punching the racist after telling Bill to stay cool lol
I am SO GLAD everyone seems to love Bill!! I think she's just what the Doctor needs 馃グ
WOW I forgot how much I love this one. so many fantastic moments (and those costumes-yowza! they both look great). same writer who did face the raven! this is definitely the doctor learning from something like Kill The Moon (and even further back to The Beast Below), where he completely misjudged and hurt Clara deeply. he still has the human make the massive choice, but is with her in the moment. so nice to see him get it right. another "they so should have kept that" deleted scene to be found on youtube: the doctor telling Bill about a date he planned for River <3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWdaHj5Krnc your theorizing is so fun to hear!! keep up the theories, I can't wait for you to see how this season unfolds oh also i've got to share just because i'm so excited: i got tickets to see peter capaldi perform with his rock band in march. will be wild!
Ahhhh Clare!! How exciting! 3 months to go... Man, that will be incredible. I don't know what he wears during his concerts, but all I can think of is him there with his guitar and dark glasses! I hope you have the best time 馃グ
Series 10 is my absolute favorite! I normally don鈥檛 comment on patreon much but I have to say your reactions are so authentic and I can tell you are such a lovely person, Juliette! The 12th doctor has definitely warmed up in this season and bill adds a ray of light. Hope you continue to enjoy it!
Thank you so much 馃槶馃挏 I know it is hard to get to know someone from what you see on screen, but I love that you can see that I'm just being myself! I sometimes wonder if it's "enough" but I'd rather just be me and if people like that, then that's great 馃グ Series 10 is a beauty so far. It just keeps getting better and better!
It's wonderful to see you pick up on and enjoy all those lovely moments developing the Doctor and Bill's relationship and understanding, as well as the Doctor teaching her about the realities of his life and how time travel works compared to how she thinks it does. You're right that she's just what the show needed at this point. I'm glad to hear you speculate about what's in the vault though as always we can't comment to confirm or deny anything. What's interesting about Nardole is that his actor Matt Lucas is known here in the UK for very lowbrow and offensive comedy so his casting did not go down well at all. However the show seems to have a strong record of taking actors known for comedy and making them really work in more serious roles and scenes and this is yet another example of it (even if some of his comic relief moments can fall flat), as was Catherine Tate as Donna. Twelve, Bill and Nardole seem to be a very good trio indeed.
OOH Alice, that's so interesting about Matt Lucas! I've never seen him before so I wouldn't have guessed that he's a bit of a controversial person. I think he plays a great role as Nardole though, he's brilliant and funny with the most wonderful expressions!
