Angel 5x21 Power Play
It's the SECOND LAST EPISODE and I am honestly not ready for all of this to end!
I know I have a bit of an "In denial, Always" vibe going on... And today it's VERY apparent... but I really just can't stop the way my mind works 😅
Great episode to keep us guessing and confused down to the wire. Bring on the season finale 💜

I'm sure you caught it during editing but Angel says the visions were a "one shot deal." But I am still very confused by that whole Cordelia episode. She never woke up and yet interacted with everyone and now with Angel referencing the kiss and Wesley confirming she was actually there... why how where when? Oh well. At least we got another episode with the Archduke. That guy's a hoot. Too bad he didn't have his little slave with him.
Cordy was acting as an agent of the Powers in "You're Welcome," and with all the other stuff that happens in the Buffyverse, granting her soul a temporary physical presence isn't really far-fetched.

OK, just puttin' it out there (before we get to the *experience* of next week): I'm not sayin' the "Angel" finale is *as awesome*--- as the "Buffy" finale. I'm not. (Few things are.) I'm not sayin' it's as great or greater. But (true to the spirit of this really unique sequel series) it's CRAZIER than the "Buffy" finale--- & drags the viewer's emotions up & down & through the ringer *way more* than "Buffy: Chosen." So, yeah. Full *buckle-up* mode. [Edit: My one minor quibble with these last two episodes--- & it didn't bother me at the time, but I tend to notice it more over time--- is that they are a little on the rushed side. I think the writers did a pretty fantastic job of tying together what needed to be tied together (& setting up what needed to be set up), but the fact is--- they had to do it in a hurry...]
Hi Juliette 👋 On my original viewing of this episode I remember flip-flopping a number of times between thinking Angel had actually turned bad, or that he HAD to have some sort of plan that explained his actions. Glad to see it was the latter that turned out to be correct. Just imagine if the finale had been the gang having to kill Angel/Angelus! Just one more episode left then. I'm both looking forward to it, but also sad that there's only one more of your excellent Buffyverse reactions left to watch (until maybe the reboot?). Great reaction as always Juliette. I was SO worried that it was headed down a bad direction, Neil! So close to the end and they break the group apart? COME ON (but it sounds familiar, right...) so I was relieved when it was all okay. Joss is a right tease and he loves being so mean to us 🤣 It has been such a long road from the beginning of the Buffyverse. I just know you'll like what's coming up after Angel though. Roz Kaveney wrote an essay on the end of Angel and mentioned that in Lineage, (Wesley's father ep), the cyborgs carried the Black Thorn circle sigil. But I've been through that with a fine toothcomb and can't see it anywhere. I knew this episode back to front but I never spotted the unicorns. For me this was Part 1 of 2 of most anticipated Jules Reacts ever. Yes be concerned. Let's all go out and get tissues. At the wholesalers.
