Angel 5x18 Origin
This episode is so good 😭😭 I was so surprised to see a certain character and it felt so emotionally satisfying. I can't really say too much here of the whole thing will be spoiled!

💕 watching this with you 😢 it's coming to an end but at least we have another month of Angel Mondays which will all come and go too fast gotta soak up these moments as slow as possible ASAP but opposite 😜
Coming to the end of Angel is so sad, honestly. There's so much more I want to know and see... 🥺
I liked the way Angel treated Gunn in the previous episode, not firing him, and encouraging to use the gifts he had been given as they had come at such a price. And I didn't like the way he treated Wesley in this episode, telling him to shape up when he's still mourning Fred. But looking back, his motive seems to be the same in both cases: getting as much out of his employees as he can.
Ooh. Maybe he's fixing to do something stupid 😏
I’m so happy to be able to tell you now that I like Illyria 🤣. Yes it’s weird, yes we miss Fred but just like you said, Illyria is fascinating and Amy Acker is mesmerizing in that role. Noticed how she never blinks with those contacts, she’s amazing. And it really says a lot about Amy Acker as an actress that she made everyone like Illyria when Fred was such a beloved character with such a horrible death
I miss lovely Fred, but Illyria is FASCINATING. If she wasn't so volatile, I mean... who'd say no 🫠 The way that Amy can play the role of this sweet innocent girl and this powerful BEAST of a character is just.... Wow.
I really like this episode and this version of Connor. He still remembers all of his terrible life, but with the context of a healthy, happy childhood, he's able to process it and stay balanced. It always makes me think about what could have been if the show hadn't ended. If that version of Connor could have returned and been a character everybody liked.
Yeah it's a fantastic piece of work by Kartheiser showing his versatility as an actor. The final scene with Connor too, where the old troubled one comes out in his facial expressions. Lighting has a lot to do with how he's presented this episode. It makes full use of W&H for this so differently to the dark dirty streets of L. A. And the lighting choices tie into the character. With everything else The Fang Gang got wrong there they got Connor right.
I especially like the conversations between Wesley and Illyria during all these recent episodes like the one on the rooftop from the previous episode. Yes, it is sad because of the circumstances but in some weird way there's also a bittersweet beauty in those moments. They both are damaged in their own way yet they find this strange connection which saves them from feeling completely isolated. Also, I don't know if it was ever mentioned but notice some similarities between Glory from Buffy, Jasmine and now Illyria. They all are described as ancient godlike beings and they all needed a human vessel in one way or another to manifest themselves into our world. Coincidence or not? I don't know if it was ever clarified by the writers.
