I don't know how many times I need to say I LOVE THIS SHOW, but it's true! I am so in love with the meaning behind it, the characters, their growth and development. The way that it speaks to ME and US and makes me THINK new things that I haven't spent a lot of time thinking about in the past.
I just love it.... And I'm even now wearing Michael's grey hoodie in honour of my favourite demon 🤣

I was impressed at the end of the episode before this when Tahani says "We won, and might actually get a chance to go to the Good Place," and you immediately picked up something suspicious in Michael's reaction. I didn't notice that myself before you pointed it out. This show has so many subtle cues like that. For another example, look about 13 minutes into Season 1, Episode 4, where Michael invites everyone to share their stories of the special meal they're eating, and look where he's pointing and at his reaction when Glenn chimes in.
The Piece of Blu Tack on my Desk - A Short Story There is a piece of blu tack on my desk. I don't know how it got to be there. I don't know where it came from. It just is. It may have been there before I was. Maybe even before the desk was. And I strongly suspect it will be there long after I'm gone. Sometimes I take it out of its bowl and look at it. I look at it and knead it. I change its shape, much as my own shape has changed over the years. And just like me, it will never have the exact same shape again. I can see part of my fingerprint in it. A part of me, in this piece of blu tack. And I wonder, has it left an impression on me as well? Am I changed, in some slight way, because of this piece of blu tack on my desk? This piece of blu tack that has been here forever, and will be here long after I've moved on. Will it miss me?
WHAAAAAAT? That is an awesome story 🤣 I love it!! I do have an update... I've had to buy a gate to separate the cats in the house when they get to a point where they are too cranky with each other. Yes, sad but true. And the blu tack stops the gate from closing all the time, as it's a pain in the butt. SO! It came in handy! I knew I kept that junk around for a reason 😅
I love Michael so much. By this point, I was fully on board with him again, even after his surprise betrayal at the end of season 1. I just adore his character arc. Can't wait for you to see more! :)
I love him too 😭😭 for him to completely turn it around and end up loving these 4 dysfunctional humans so much is everything I hoped for! I am SO HAPPY that it went this way! I truly was so sad after the betrayal... But our Michael that we loved was inside the bad Michael all along!
Everybody comes around on Elanor and Chidi by around this point. Welcome to the club!
YAY!!!! I ADORE THEM! I never thought I would, but I am 100% emotionally invested in their relationship! It's not the Bachelor so I can say that 🤣
I really look forward to your reactions to this show. It's like I'm getting to see it again for the first time, and it's amazing to see how much it is effecting you. I don't know if you've seen it before, but if you're looking for something else that is wholesome, might I heartily recommend you look into Ted Lasso? It seems odd to call Ted Lasso wholesome... it's filled to the brim with swearing. It's full of adult humor, and there's some raunchy stuff too... but somehow the show is just so darned wholesome despite that. The Good Place and both Ted Lasso kind of hit me in more or less the same spot, emotionally. When you have an open slot for a new show, Ted Lasso is a great way to spend 3 short seasons.
I've never heard of Ted Lasso but I'll have to check it out! I love that it's 3 seasons, nothing too crazy to commit to. I was thinking Severance, Cobra Kai or Veronica Mars could be contenders for the next!
One of the many things i love about this show is how they speed up and slow down the story when appropriate. In episode 2, we went through 800 reboots all in that episode. This episode narratively did not need to happen. At the end of last episode, Michael could have said, here is how we get into the good place and they could have got on the train. But the writers knew that if they were saying goodbye to the neighborhood, the characters and the audience needed that time to appreciate what they have been through and let them get to the next stage together. That time honoring Michael and each other illustrated how much they have grown and how they are ready to leave this place behind. And yes Sean is the boss of the bad place architects and was pretending to be the actual all-knowing judge. I hope you post the next episode soup. I mean soon… so random.
I love your "soup" comment 🤣 I actually kind of like Sean? I know I'm probably not meant to and he's likely a VERY bad dude, but there's just something about him! I think the only person I don't like is Trevor! I'll never forget the hideous toenail incident and the SMILE comments!!
I can’t wait for you to see what’s to come! It’s such an adventure, filled with philosophy. Hehe 🙃
So much philosophy, and as accurate as they could make it. On the DVD commentary for Season 2 Episodes 1 & 2 we learn that there are 2 philosophy professors consulting for the show to keep everything consistent and real. Also, S1E6 'What We Owe to Each Other' is the title of an actual book by T.M. Scanlon, a living philosopher, in which he lays out the theory of Contractualism as discussed on the show. Scanlon even incorporated examples from the show in a YouTube lecture he gave in 2020.
Sean was just pretending to be judge as part of the cover-up during the first attempt. This episode feels like a season finale. The show does such a great job of changing up the rhythm and keeping you on your toes.
I feel that Sean was very tolerant for a boss! He was sceptical about Michael's plan, but went along with it anyway. I dare say a lot of Bad Place bosses may not have been that allowing. Ooh I wonder if we get to meet any more Bad Place head honchos!!
