A Huge Step
Hey everyone!
I have a huge step to announce regarding the Patreon, content delivery, future sustainability and the professionalization on my end! But also a personal update at the end. With all the support you guys have given I've been able to use the income from Patreon to hire an IT firm which will set up a data hosting service. The service will be used for a few different things.
The first being that it will provide you a portal that will be linked to Patreon. This will always let you download at the best possible speeds and rates. On top of this we are looking into making a fully customizable download selection menu. So you'll be using the Patreon to link to the portal, and then you can mix and match leagues, continents, maybe specific teams. It will be a lot of work, but will ultimately increase your ability to customize your own package. This last part is the most unsure bit of it, but I am confident we can find a way.
This will also allow you to navigate different stadiums, add screenshot libraries and all that good stuff. Meaning your user experience should increase.
This service will include a NAS storage for me, allowing me to work remotely, adjust smaller things in an ordered fashion and just in general have a new backup for if things go extremely wrong.
This is a huge risk on my part as it is a very large investment, sitting at €7000 so it's a really big step to take, but one I am excited to take! Hopefully by the time FM27 releases I will have this solution ready to work locally as well as remotely on various mods. And bring it to you by that time!
A small intermission to show that I've found a way to change the manager models!
I wanted this announcement to be a huge and happy step, which it is still, but it will also carry a bit of sadness. Yesterday I received some very unfortunate news in my working environment and that is that I am essentially being laid off. As some may know I work at a school and yesterday I got the news that - despite the students really vouching for me - they have made the decision to not renew me for the upcoming school year. Obviously that sucks, and this has further ramifications to my study, income and the business of my schedule.
As always I'll try to keep my chin up, but it's a new setback when I really wanted to generate forward momentum :) I want to use the upcoming time to get more structure to the patreon tiers, use video functionality a bit more and just in general set up a more stable bottom line.
But as always, thank you so much for all the support everyone gives me, without everyone here all this would literally be impossible to do and my entire bottom line would've fallen away, so genuinely, thank you!
