August update

Hi all!
I figure you're owed another update. Good news is I've been working pretty hard lately.

I've been spending long days building the last part of the movie mechanics which I've been dreading for ages: events. These may appear randomly and are dynamic. They differ based on genre (an action movie may spawn an event where you have to take one of the stars to a gun range to help her get used to shooting, for example. A comedy won't spawn this event), which girls play in them (when you cast a girl who's not a singer for a musical, an event may spawn where you need to match her up with a singer from your contacts for some lessons), what choices you've made (worse directors may cause more events etc.). This spread over multiple movies made it quite a chore to code.

But it's done and after some testing, it seems to be working pretty damn well. I also ran into a bug with the messaging system which took me like 5 hours to chase and fix, but that too is now working really well. I'm getting quite excited at all the pieces falling in place now. I feel like the game is finally becoming a bit more dynamic and the world is coming alive somewhat. There's still a lot of work to do but I'm picking up steam again. In a month or so, there's a life change in my personal life giving me more private time to work on the game, hopefully speeding up development.

I also changed up the intro slightly, making the car buying more fun by introducing a celebrity. I'll be redoing more things to add more girls into them soon. The game has like 200 girls and I want there to be way more interactions wherever the player goes. It's gonna be fun. I've written two events for the movies already and have three more planned. I still gotta finish up success calculations for the movies and code the actual subscriber mechanics for the streaming platform. That sounds daunting, but number stuff like that is actually one of my favorite parts :)

Between all the business stuff, I've been doing some light work on the stripclub as well, fleshing out it's mechanics a bit here and there. Probably will still have placeholder content by next update, but it's getting there.

If I get one or two more good days in this month, the update should be out before september. It'll have the movie production, some new events, a bunch of new clothing, a new small celebrity-run business, some club content, a few revamped scenes and completely new features like messaging. Let's hope life is good to me and gives me those two good days ASAP :)

On a sidenote, Patreon changed their adult content policy lately so I've been deleting all posts on here with pictures in them, just in case. I try not to anger the Patreon gods. The game will probably be ready for a true public release later this year and from then on I'm probably switching to Reddit for development updates, using the Patreon only as a support platform and a way to unlock premium game features. The payment processors rule this site's policies and it makes me nervous. It's better to have as little content on here as possible and just use it for membership benefits.
