Dev & Patreon update 4/27/2026

Quick update on projects im working on and pricing change.

Patreon pricing update. TLDR: for existing subscribers rates stay the same.

This is something Ive been thinking a lot about. I started Patreon to have something permanent - a job that I love to do while not being dependent on someone specific. I had Gumroad already, but their fees are astronomical, UI is terrible. Recently I started Payhip, but in general single sales aren't very motivating. I was very happy to find out about Patreon as it fit my idea of continuous development of AC cars and tracks with continuous support. I set the subscription rates very low compared to Gumroad and other platforms hoping it would be a continuous growing supporter base. However every system has cracks. More than half of my Patreon subscribers efficiently abuse the system - subscribe, binge download everything, cancel subscription within an hour. Majority of remaining new subscribers cancel within a week. This has been extremely demotivating. Over past year Ive even seen some people resubscribe 5 times (and cancel same day again). In contrast the most motivating times are when someone subscribes for a year ahead - I really appreciate those who do. So Im convinced annual subscriptions is where I feel much more motivated to create things. Patreon is planning to do annual only subscriptions next year which I plan to use. Until then I came up with ideas how to stop demotivating binge downloaders - first of all monthly subscriptions rates will go way up, multiple times over. No more $2 full archive downloads. To my loyal supporters - your rates will NOT change as people who are continuously subscribed to a tier, I appreciate you. The fun part - to incentivize new people subscribing for a year - I will apply massive annual subscription discounts, so they are similar to current ones. Im sure there will be people who think raising rates is unfair. I think its unfair to other supporters when someone subscribes for $1.75 to download all of my scratch made cars and tracks and unsubscribe. Its been killing my motivation. For past year I committed to do this fulltime - I am draining my savings and spending 15-18 hours per day working on new content for AC. So this is one of steps i need to take. Maybe I will get less new subscribers, but at least I will stop seeing the demotivating cancellations.

I will implement new rates on april 30th. People who have subscribed before april 30th will stay on old rates (fur their current tier only)

weekly update

It was my birthday so I took 2 days off. But last week was LF Fest in Las Vegas so we went for practice.

I took some photos of Sorensen cars, recorded sound files and also managed to get some live temperature readings. Trying to get the tires accurate as possible so was looking forward to start of season, here is a sample reading , tires easily hit 350C and I need to update thermals. CSP might need an update too as it has currently set to flash tires at 350 but thats clearly not the case, this was an average run, temps spiked higher, no flash.

Here's examples where CSP flashes tires at 350C, I had to back down on the GT Radials.

Content updates:

Branden Sorensen 2026 BMW - updated sound. v1.02

Ken Gushi GR86 - bunch of updates. Remade front and rear wheels from scratch (from 3d scans), door inside panels, windows, and updated soundbank for interior with fresh new recordings from Long Beach. Also had to correct the wheel offsets tiny bit. Still need to fix livery and exterior sounds.

Fun part - past week I've been working on a new track - Stafford Motor Speedway to practice for upcoming FD event this year, surface is 99% finalized.

Still working on improving visuals and efficiency. Track available upon request for L3.

LVMS Outer Road Course - added full course CCW layout with AI. Also fixed CW AI for old CSP (2.xx) versions.

Next week heading to FD Atlanta to get more scans and recordings. I'm driving there to deliver FD cars from westcoast so I will be able to work on AC just a few hours inbetween before sleep. Any urgent issues - comment or DM!
