When I first shot with Istella model, she had spent a day or two in Copenhagen, among other things, updating her lingerie collection, and I thought it would be a pity not to at least do a couple of images with that on.
But contrary to many other photographers, when I both shoot nude and clothed, I always start shooting nudes, and then progress to add clothing.
I understand that many photographers conceptually like to "ease into nudity".
But first of all, if you, as a photographer, are interested in photographing a model nude, it's always better to ask outright than to do a gradual striptease variation.
The strip approach might push a model's levels, and unless she is super conscious of what's happening, the approach can also lead to regret.
Either she will shoot nudes or she won't; tricking someone into it is stupid and unnecessary.
Secondly, clothing will often leave marks on the body, so by starting with clothing, you are often at a disadvantage when shooting nudes afterward.
