Update - 11/09/2023

Hello, everyone! How was your weekend? I spent it working, mostly, but I did have the chance to meet some old friends on Sunday, so that was nice. This last week was one of those were you work like never before, and still feel like you haven't accomplished anything. We launched the Under Ashen Skies Kickstarter, and opened the pledge manager for Across a Thousand Dead Worlds. Probably not the best idea to do both at once, but that's how things turned out. This meant me spending most of my waking hours answering to questions and solving problems. If it weren't for Leo's help, who is the one who set up the pledge manager, I wouldn't have been able to do anything. Backerkit sucks so hard as a user experience, it's so complicated to find anything.  

The UAS Kickstarter is doing more or less as I expected. I would of course prefer if it went better, but considering the sheer amount of crowdfunding campaigns I've seen this week, I'm surprised it funded at all. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to unlock the first stretch goal though, which means we'll get a new cover by Chaoclypse! 

I've been doing a few other things this week. I've been working on a secret project (I don't think you guys expect this one), refining Ker Nethalas: Into the Midnight Throne, and even taking a serious look at Empire Undying. I love what I've done so far with that game, but the more I play Ker Nethalas, the more I love the ruleset, so I might attempt to create some sort of hybrid ruleset. I realize that I'm pumping out new games too often though, so the next few months I want to circle back and release stuff for my existing games. This is my current plan:

- Egrastea Reborn, which has seen some progress this week, with the addition of a reputation system for PCs to earn rewards as they improve their standing with the House of Egress. 

- Next would be some sort of expansion for Riftbreakers, which has become my #1 seller. I have a few ideas, including a crazy one that turns the game into some sort of Pokémon card game. We'll see...

- New material for Sacrifice. I want to add the Arcanist starting occupation, which completely changes how the game's played. And a mass combat system too. So probably it would be Demonic issue #2.

- The expansion for ATDW. This one will change the game dramatically, and I'm dying to start working on it. I have lots of notes so it's just a matter of organizing myself.

So my conflict comes from not knowing what to release next here on Patreon. I want to give you guys Ker Nethalas this month, but it would be, once again, mostly artless. There's also the fact that I'm going to crowdfund it once UAS is delivered, and I'm hoping to be able to get more art for it, which means that right now I'm working on its layout basically for nothing, because I would need to re-do it.  I very much doubt I'll have Egrastea Reborn done before the month's over (I could have the writing done since I plan on focusing on it this week), so most likely I'll give you a WIP (layout-wise) version of Ker Nethalas. It plays great and I'm having a blast with my own campaign, so I really want you guys to take it for a spin.

I know I still have to give you guys the finished version of Warlord Ascendant, but I haven't been able to pay ORB for the art. If I can, I'll use the UAS KS cash to pay him (not enough to cover what I owe him right now, but it should be possible if we reach 5K) so I can release WA properly. I considered having a KS for it as well, but I'm honestly afraid of attempting to fund something like that.

So as you see, I have tons of things in the works and planned, it's going to be a really busy end of the year. As always, I'll keep you posted!
