Update - 14/08/2023

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend. I celebrated my birthday and got a ton of new manga as birthday presents, haha. Looking forward to reading it! Aside from that, I spent it finally wrapping up all the gear and loot chapter for Ker Nethalas: Into the Midnight Throne, which ended up being larger than I expected, almost 10K words. It has full loot and gear tables with detailed weapons, piecemeal armor, random magic item generation (with just a single roll of 3 dice, thanks Derek for the idea!), and 20 relics, so it's packed with stuff for you to find! I'm actually going to do my first playtest of it right now, so I'm super excited to see how it goes. Once I'm happy with how the overall balance feels, I'll go back and finish the enemy action tables and their stat blocks, and add the 20 Overlords as well. I've also started working on the layout with the couple of art pieces I have for it, and I think it's going to be my best looking game. What do you guys think?

I've been thinking and I've decided that if the KS for Under Ashen Skies is a success, I'll adopt the Philip Reed method of releases; that is, go to KS to fund everything I produce in short, cheap campaigns that will be fulfilled via DTRPG. Nothing changes for you guys, but that ensures I get some cash to pay for the art because I've reached a point where I cannot pay for it from my own pocket beforehand and then hope/wait for months before recouping the money via sales. As you might have noticed, I haven't released the finished version of Warlord Ascendant yet simply because I can't pay ORB for the art. So the idea would be to release UAS via KS first, if it works, then take WA to KS to pay for the art, and then possibly Ker Nethalas. We'll see!

It is looking though like I'll not be able to finish Ker Nethalas on time for this month, though, art or no art. I need to playtest it properly, then add the missing stuff (which is A LOT of work, coming up with 3-4 different attacks for 60 enemies, and their stat blocks, is a PITA), and then do the layout. That means that I'll need to write something for you guys. I have a couple of ideas, so I'll probably tackle it this week.

In other news, Across a Thousand Dead Worlds is almost done! The books are printed, and so are the maps. We just need to wait for them to finish the slipcases for the deluxe editions, which will be done later this month. Exciting! Now to figure out how to pay the rest I owe the printer, haha.

So that's it for now, I hope you all have a great week!
