Update - 08/05/2023

Hello, everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was spent working as usual, but I did have an epic 4 hour session for the game I'm in as a player. We're used to 1-2 hour sessions so this was great, and it allowed us to finish some ongoing exploration we had. I really missed playing RPGs in a group as a player, and now I have this D&D group, and also an Imperium Maledictum game that the always awesome Alan Bahr is running, so I went from not playing as a player since 2002 or so, to having 2 campaigns!

Aside from that, I've done great progress with my Sacrifice skirmish game, which I'm sure you all know needs a new name. "Blood & Mud" was not only very generic, there's a comic book called like that so I didn't want to risk it. I was pretty close to using "Havoc Legacy" but I decided to set up a poll to see what you guys thought about it. I added "Crimson Conquest" as a last second option, and I'm surprised to see it's the most popular one. The name's not trademarked, but I did see that there are a couple of books on Amazon with that name, something I didn't check before adding it to the poll because like I said, it was a spur of the moment thing. A couple of you have brought some really good points regarding the name, though, saying that it should both try to be as original as possible, while at the same time show those elements of conquest. I thought I had that with Havoc Legacy, but since it wasn't really popular, I thought I could do better. So I spent a few hours yesterday thinking about it, and I ended up with something I really like: Warlord Ascendant. It's bombastic and speaks of the setting, and most importantly, it sounds cool as hell (at least to me, haha). So I hope you don't feel cheated, you know I usually abide by poll results, and this poll was extremely useful regardless of my final decision.

So aside from working on Warlord Ascendant last week, I've been setting up all the changes to have Broken Shores back on sale (almost done!), and tweaking the Riftbreakers PDF. I've also been hounding Phil regarding the Across a Thousand Dead Worlds print files, but so far it's been useless. LF OSR and I were discussing what our next steps would be in case he disappears and never delivers the files. We can't work with the screen PDF, so we would need to make the book from scratch. This would either mean hiring someone for it (which I REALLY can't afford, it's a monster book and that means several thousands of Euros. Again...), or spend the next 3 months doing it myself, which would be free but would take me away from working on other stuff, and it wouldn't look as good. Either option sucks, but I must admit I'm losing hope and I'll make a final call this month.

This week I'll keep working on Warlord Ascendant, and see if I can get Phil to answer me. I should have the game done this month, or at least the writing, it might be delayed due to the playtesting and art, in which case I'd upload a small Sacrifice thing I have almost finished, and my secret resource management/exploration mini game, which has been done for a few weeks now!
