Update - 21/11/2022
Hello, everyone! Before we start, let's welcome our newest member: Craig Joly! Thanks for joining the Order!
So how was your week? Mine has been incredibly busy. As you are aware, I can't stop myself and started working on a new game called Godshard. I even have a logo for it already!
As you can imagine after seeing this logo, I'm going for a very extreme metal art style in general, I think it suits the vibe of the world. It's going to be fun! Aside from the details I shared with you about it on my last post, I've decided this is going to be D100 based, so I'm not using the D20 ruleset as I've done with Sacrifice and Path of the Aram Thyr. Most of you already know that D100 rulesets are my favorite, so it feels good to be back. In a way, this game is turning out to be the spiritual successor of my first game, Disciples of Bone & Shadow, a game I can no longer work on, as you're all aware of. It wasn't intentional at all; as a matter of fact Godshard started (in my head, at least) as Waterworld, the RPG. I know that film gets a lot of flak but I always liked it! Translating some of the film's elements to a dark fantasy, almost Sword & Sorcery setting is something I haven't seen anywhere, and the idea of exploring a vast, endless sea and scavenging what you can while dealing with strange cults, pirates, and all kinds of aquatic horrors sounds like a lot of fun to me, haha. I think I'm doing a really good job with the ruleset, and it's going to be super tight. Your character should be done in minutes, and the gameplay should get you going and exploring the One Sea on your raft pretty quickly.
Aside from that, I've been super busy working on the layout for Sacrifice's next release! Both Imad and Perplexing Ruins finalized their scenarios, and they're are absolutely delightful. Imad's presents a classic tale of Incense & Iron and it's absolutely perfect for the setting, and the scenario created by Perplexing Ruins turns Sacrifice into a folk horror story, which is perfect because Berserk (the manga that inspired Sacrifice) does have some elements of folk horror. I'm super happy with both scenarios, and I think this week they'll be in your hands!
For the rest of the week I'll be busy with Godshard, finishing the layout for Path of the Aram Thyr, working on Under Ashen Skies, and doing whatever else I see I can do. I'm keeping myself busy, that's for sure!
Hope everyone has a great week!
