Update - 04/07/2022
Hello, everyone! How have you all been? To those of you in the US, happy 4th of July! Not sure you got much to celebrate as a nation right now, though... Let's hope for a better future.
So this week has been entirely focused on Sacrifice. I'm working on the lore section of the game right now, detailing some aspects that I think are necessary in order to really enjoy it. This ties directly with the current in-game political situation, which leads into the gameable aspect of it all. To the surprise of no one, I've decided to add hexcrawling rules, since you'll spend most of your time travelling around No Man's Land. I don't want to talk too much about the lore, but the game is set in the middle of a long war between two of the most important countries of the continent. The conflict has been going on for a hundred years, leaving a whole area between both countries as a buffer zone called No Man's Land. This territory is perfect for adventuring since it's full of bandits, deserters, refugees, and heretics. And where there's suffering, there are demons... Especially when your character is around, as you'll soon see.
Here's one of the maps Glynn has done for me!
It looks great, doesn't it? I love Glynn's work, no wonder he has a few Ennies.
This weekend was spent working on the traveling rules, which I initially thought weren't going to be necessary, but after realizing traveling is what the PCs will be doing the most, I decided to include them. They are quite gamified and very simple, so I think they'll be fun to use! There's nothing revolutionary here though, it's basically the same stuff I had for Disciples of Bone & Shadow, just cleaned up and adapted to D&D.
This week I'll keep working on the lore section, and if everything goes okay I should be able to start working on the bestiary. Since this is D&D, I think I'll just stick to the few unique creatures that I want to have and assume that if you want to face a wolf you have a billion wolf stat blocks. Or should I include all the basics, just in case? What do you guys think?
That's it for this week, have a great one!

Mainly hp, movement, carrying capacity. Diess encumbrance play much if a role in Sacrifice? I know it’s not supposed to be super crunchy!
I added a very simple system for keeping track of gear, it's essentially the same I've been using in all my games, just cleaned up. So yeah, I guess having carrying capacity added to beasts of burden would be a good idea. Thanks!
I’d stick with unique creatures. Maybe include mount stats? I know they’re basic DnD horses and such, but it’s nice to just have those stats for quick reference.
Yes, I've been working on encounter tables today and I realize that it would probably be best to include at the very least all the beasts I mention there. I didn't think of including mounts though, what type of stats are you looking for?
